Gold Diggers of 1953

Extremely random!

I missed my window to be a gold digger. You gotta do it when you're young and pretty. Sometimes my bank account regrets it.

I'm done sharing. Now, it's your turn... take a break from Oscar prediction thoughts and share something random

I waited way too long to figure out that I would have been better off hunting for a sugar daddy.

I'm think I'm in the early stages of love with Rose Byrne. No idea why either.

Rebel Without a Cause, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and A Place in the Sun are the only 3 movies on the AFI's Top 100 list I haven't seen. Which one should I tackle first?

My last name is Byrne. NJ Governor Byrne; Mayor Jane Byrne.

I much prefer "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."

"A Place in the Sun" is so so good! GWCTD is very very dated....but the last scene is quite lovely.

Rebel Without a Cause vs. A Place in the Sun is a Sophie's Choice. Watch them both!

when in doubt I usually opt for chronological correctness so maybe Sun first. You can see that Brando and Dean didn't invent brooding man mystique all by their lonesomes.

j.d. --don't do it! she's so, um, unformed. or something. Why can't I make up my mind about her? It's Troy still haunting me I think.

Yes, I too wish I had dug some gold and married rich while I was still hot.

Also, I disliked Juno, and Little Miss Sunshine.

At least once a week, I get misty fantasizing about the possibility that the entire series of Designing Women will be released on DVD someday.

So many thoughts so little time.

Many older movies are so overrated and I'm not afraid to tell it like it is. Dial M for Murder WTF was so special about that?? So Dated.

I just saw BladeRunner and I agree with Ebert -Pretty but Dull.

I also agree with the AMPA Member who said Michael Clayton is Mediocre at best.

I like Johnny and Tim Burton, but I fell asleep on Sweeney Todd.

Why is it that Black comedies always receive poor reviews and White comedies like the overrated Knocked up receive good ones?
Because most critics are White.

Why is it that people complain about honors specifically for African Americans? My favorite line-Well if it was for White people then it would be racist. WTH will these idiots realize that there are honors and awards for all ethnicities including Polish, Italian , Irish, etc? There's actually an Italian -American Film award. Don't these groups consist of mostly Whites??

When will people realize that Latina/Latino is not a race, but a culture? Yes, Zoe Saldana is a Latina , but her race is Black. She evens states that she is a Black woman.

I'm done ranting

Watch Rose Byrne (and Heath Ledger for that matter) in Two Hands and you'll never doubt yourself on the enthusiasm for Rose.

Also, I find Seth Rogen kinda cute. Weird, I know.

While mulling over Hairspray's Tony Award wins recently, I thought Marissa Jaret Winokur must have won the Tony for Supporting Actress in a Musical, because co-star Harvey Fierstein won the Tony for Lead Actress in a Musical that year. Oops.

funny

though it's interesting that both Turnblads seemed more supporting than lead at times in the film version. Weird how the same piece can play so differently with different actors and director. It felt so much more like an ensemble thing than the previous incarnations
