Four years ago today the beautifully rendered, endearing road trip juvenilia of
Y Tu Mama Tambien made it to the States after proving itself a smash in Mexico. I thought this was as good a time as any to
revisit the love (and drooling) by spotlighting its ascendant star, one of the best young actors anywhere on the planet, Gael Garcia Bernal. [FB Awards:

You can bet that he'll be showing up at my countdown of the top 100 actors of this decade (
now in progress). You can also bet that you won't be seeing him for a long time still --he's way the hell up there. I
give loan you Gael. Drink him up while you can.

On a totally shallow note, I wish he and Natalie never broke up. I love them both.
With equal respect to Leung (who is a phenomenal actor), I think Bernal has also achieved great depth too. If I was to "do a National Board of Review" and lump projects together in my year end honours, he'd have the Best Actor from me last year for the Motorcycle/Education combo.
Alas, my doctor advises me that I'm not predisposed to "do a National Board of Review", and therein lies the rub.

Well I love Gael much more than Natalie (what is he, #2 on your list, Nathaniel?), but yeah, they're children would've tocked. Well, they woulda been hella short, but other than that... supreme beauty. Especially since Nat has the "perfect features" thing down and Gael has that smouldering internal sexiness. And their skin would've been a beautiful shade of tan. Gorgeous.

he is without a doubt the best international actor in years, I think he might be better than Javier Bardem. And he is so popular everywhere, I just respect the guy so much.
and by the way he is working in his directorial debut, they're already filming it's called DEFECEIT, they're shooting it in Mexico City and expect it to release it in September so that the Mexican Academy picks it to represent Mexico at the Oscars
