BOOGIE! Da da da da da da DA! Drum Boogie, Drum Boogie. I absolutly love this film. They just don't make them like this anymore. Thanks for the memory, I'll have to go add this to my Netflix queue.
Although "Double Indemnity" is the role for which she is most remembered, 1941 is arguably the year in which Stanwyck should have won the big one. Question is, should it have been for this or "The Lady Eve"? Damn those 7-10 splits!
I think I would have given it for Ball of Fire, mainly because I would've given it to Cooper that year as well. But yeah, Stanwyck was uneblievably gorgeous.
I vote Lady Eve, but hey, no one's complaining about Ball of Fire. (Too bad that Stanwyck lost to one of the weakest Best Actress winners in Oscar's annals.)
Okay, alright, Stanwyck's great in Ball of Fire, now get to the masterpiece and post the The Lady Eve still already (the card game, the seduction scene, the snakes, the honeymoon on the train, "It's the same dame," etc).
