The remake is supposed to be a musical, not very close to the original movie. It's a very dangerous project but I think it will be good. Or at least, interesting. GO EWAN!
If Queen Kelly is available, check it out. It's the film that pretty much destroyed both Swanson's and von Stroheim's careers. And for all you Sunset Boulevard devotees, it's the film Norma screens for Joe Gillis.

Brilliant.
No other words.
Wow.
Like, my 15th film of all time.
That is all.
I miss Norma Desmond! She's G-d.
Oh God, THE EYES! Amazing.
Glenn Close has some big shoes to fill. I don't know how I feel about that remake...

Wait, Ewan is in it?
I need to see another Gloria Swanson movie. Recommendations?
Yes! Ewan for Joe Gillis. How exciting is that? One of the most inspired choices.
No, Ewan isn't in Sunset Boulevard. That's an old rumour that he denied last year. He's never even been in talks for it. That was completely made up.
They're remaking it?!
While I do firmly believe that Glenn Close can do absolutely anything, I'm a bit wary of the notion of a remake of a Billy Wilder movie.
I hope it's at least very very different from the original. So I'm glad it's a musical.
They're not necessarily remaking the original film so much as they're adapting the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that was on Broadway.
I've never seen the stage version, but as anon said, it's quite different from the original.
I remember reading about the project again in a Ewan fansite less than a month ago. I'm sure he's still involved in it.
He's not still involved in it - he never was involved in it. Whatever you read, trust me, it was false.
