Most big-budget FX extravaganzas are bland as hell, but this one was actually kinda bizarre. There were a handful of memorable "am I really seeing this?" moments, enough to recommend it, I think. When Jake and Emmy Rossum were trying to outrun the approaching cold (!) I knew the movie was some kind of weirdo classic. I'm not sure THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW is any good, but I really enjoyed it.
I must admit I liked The Day After Tomorrow as well - though as I was watching it I was very aware of how formulaic all the personal plot lines were - designed to tug at the 'ole heartstrings - I resisted.
I liked it, too, even though it was totally predictable and completely implausable and I absolutely shouldn't have liked it. I can't help it. Casting Jake helped a lot.

Advice: Don't watch this movie during a snowstorm.
I too liked it, but I am a bit of a sucker for science-fiction even if this one is all a bit silly.
Those wolves (or were they hyenas?) nearly ruined it though.

Why couldn't Jake have been stuck somewhere really really warm and he'd have to run around saving the world in his boxers?
or less.
It was an excellent decision to cast Dennis and Jake as father and son, I must say. Two for the price of one hotness.
