Lunchtime Poll

My friend Kristofer Robin has been sending me lunchtime polls by e-mail these past couple of weeks and I've found myself looking forward to them. So I thought I'd steal it from him, as he stole it from Heathers. It's so 1989.

Answer in the comments -No lurking!
"Which movie character (from any movie) would you have most liked to hang out with in High School?"

Anthony Rapp in Dazed and Confused.

Ricky Fitts (American Beauty). No contest.

My second choice would probably be Dedee Truitt (The Opposite of Sex). Those would be killer times!

Marty McFly, I think.

(Cheating) Janis Ian and Damien from Mean Girls.

Barney Springboro from Zapped!

I feel old. I'll say Tom Cruise in Taps, because I thought he was hot, even though he was beginning to show his "true colors".

Also, Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles (or the chinese exchange student from that same movie).

And don't get me wrong, nowadays I don't like Tom Cruise.

Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling) from Sixteen Candles all the way.

And I do mean all the way.

Romy & Michelle.

Angela (Claire Danes) and her friends in "My so-called life" (I know that was TV, but who cares). I would swoon every time Jordan Catalano walked by.

Betty Finn. Oh, wait, I was Betty Finn. Then, I guess it would been the red head girl from Lucas.

Regina George. She's evil, but fabulous.

I couldn't think of anyone, but then I read everyone else's. So maybe Rizzo?

Or wait, better: Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman as Anna Coleman, from Freaky Friday. bomb.

Or if "hanging out" implies more than mere platonic friendship, then also Chad Michael Murray as Jake in Freaky Friday.

And if TV counts, then the cast of "My So-Called Life" even though I've never seen it. I've heard great things.

NATHANIEL R said...

WHAT? rent it right now. It rules

Yo, it's kind of out of print. I'm not sure it's available on Netflix. It's definitely not available to buy. But I will try.

if, I'm 16 again, then, I'd like to date that guy Rickie liked at the Halloween dance with the black-rimmed glasses and the Converse shoes. He was SO cute!

I'm sitting here and thinking about what friends I did hag out with and, knowing I was ususally a loner, I think, trgically, I'd end up with:

Rik Mayall in Drop Dead Fred.

"i'd like to sit in detention with the breakfast club"

agreed.

But for friends wise, I would love to hang around Keith and Watts from Some Kind of Wonderful. The three of us could have a wonderful love triangle going on (I totally love Keith, even though Eric Stoltz really hasn't been good looking ever again). Plus, they rock.

Ally Sheedy from The Breakfast Club. Ricky Fitts would've been tight too.

Lindsay Weir and Kim Kelly would've been absolutely fucking AMAZING.

Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme from Heavenly Creatures!
I would have loved to plan a murder with them!

Eva Amurri as Cassandra in Saved!

... or... I could "hang out" with Jesse Bradford as Cliff Pantone in Bring it On. And by "hang out"... I mean...

macoco ---how positively gothic of you ;)
damion --oh, the many definitions of "hanging out"
arun --i think a lot of people actually DID hang out with Thora & Scarlett from Ghost World, right?

Edward Scissorhands

Ally Sheedy from The Breakfast Club...if by "hang out with" you mean "try to nail". Otherwise, John Cusack from any number of films. Say Anything if you want to choose one.

Oh, great poll. I'd definitely have to go with (as did Rob) Romy and Michele, if only because of Michele's awesome back brace.

NATHANIEL R said...

Charlotte Flax! i'd nearly forgotten about her.

oh and seriously there are good tv shows with highschool characters: my so called life & freaks and geeks towering over many movies in this dept as well.

Nathaniel! copycat! In order: Betty RIZZO from "Grease", Duckie and Andie from "Pretty in Pink",Veronica Sawyer from "Heathers", Romy & Michelle, Johnny & Ponyboy from "the Outsiders", Amber from "clueless" and Bill & Ted...ya know, just for kicks. Although The Boyfriend said Edward Scissorhands, which got me thinking...Hmmmm.

In a nanosecond, Rory Gilmore from the Gilmore Girls. Also, in a totally embarassing admission, I'd go with Jack & Jen on Dawson's Creek.

I'm gonna have to say Crybaby Walker from "Crybaby". I loved that movie and Johnny Depp is soo cute.
