You just can't make this stuff up.
This is just bizarre, just bizarre. I mean, I love Clue (a lot, a lot, a lot), but that, as you said, had defined characters, a traditional movie plot (murder mystery), and nine lovely rooms for art directors.I could see this being a greed comedy, I suppose, but even if it were that, Ridley Scott is not the right director. I mean, wouldn't he have been more appropriate for Battleship?
Lol. This is so bizarre. I could imagine Scott doing a movie version of Risk if he must do board games. But Monopoly?
Miranda Richardson should play The Boot.
Let's assume that Cate Blanchett is already signed up for one of the roles, and Brian Cox for another. (He's a shoo-in for the man on the Chance and Community Chest cards, right? Or the Go to Jail space?)
i think you gotta get Jim Broadbent in there somewhere, don't you?
Didn't Jim Broadbent wear a monocle in Topsy-Turvy and/or Moulin Rouge?
So does this mean the film of Monopoly should only include British and Australian actors?
Don't forget Russell Crowe, who likes working with Ridley. We're working up quite a cast list here!
Hi Nathaniel.I'm a longtime lurker, but first time poster. I just had to know your response to what you wrote in your article on Monopoly. And I still know the order of the pieces I would play and the names of my favorite properties.
