poor liz shue where did her career go!!!! the 95 shoulda been best actress winner, who r your 95 actress nominees nat.loved anthony rapp in this film
God I love her. I'm seeing Hamlet 2 just because she's in it.
I'm sorry, I don't know who that is. She looks familiar, though. I think she works at my local Target.
This movie is one of my great classics from childhood. Such a good way to start my Sunday.
Did anyone see that soccer movie she made recently? Also, Ja, I think you're tops because you reminded me about Hamlet 2. Thank you.
Nobody's leaving this place without singing the blues.
Elisabeth forever outright ROCKS. That's all.Rob
Oh my first childhood crush. Le sigh
@ mrripley: If my memory serves me correctly, Nat's nominees are Elisabeth Shue (WINNER), Susan Sarandon, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore and Meryl Streep.
94 was such a weak year for actresses that I wish AMPAS had given the Oscar to Susan Sarandon (who I thought was actually better in 'The Client' than 'Dead Man Walking'). Then they would not have felt the need to reward her over Elisabeth Shue's superior performance in 'Leaving Las Vegas'. Oh, the injustice!M

I cannot wait for her in Hamlet 2
Oh man, great movie. The AFI theater near me is showing it in August and I can't wait to see it on the big screen again.
Susan Sarandon's oscar remains one of AMPAS' finest hours. A great category, a great performer, a great winner, and great timing. Yeah, I wish the 1994 got a couple of these performances because 1995 didn't need all these riches, but what can I say. Shue... I wish she could match her performance in Leaving Las Vegas, but giving only one for the all time lists isn't at all a bad thing to leave.
Love Adventures in Babysitting. There's a weird inverse popularity thing going on with that movie, where the bit players (Bradley Whitford, Penelope Ann Miller, Vincent D'Onofrio, maybe George Newbern) became more famous than the non-Shue leads.Though Maia Brewton did do an episode of 21 Jump Street, in case you ever wanted to dedicate a post to her.
i've often wondered why elisabeth shue's has an "s" vs. a "z" in her name. kinda weird....and she's not even black. Elizabeth TaylorElizabeth Montgomery
Wait, seriously? That's really what you wanted to say?
What really struck me at the time was that, FINALLY, there was an adventure comedy with a female protagonist. Which hardly balances out all the adventure comedies with male leads, but this one was at least funny and terrific.Maybe I need to see this one again. It's been a while.
I loved her in Adventures in Babysitting. Its a classic 80s teen movie.
