If you could weekend at the beach with any movie character, who would it be?

My answer is Madison from Splash on account of... well, duh! You know why. What's yours?

Pssst , Susan and I are off to the beach for the weekend. If I can convince her to crimp her hair, say her name in high-pitched mermaid squeals or walk around naked on the Jersey Shore than I will totally share pictures when I get back.

Hahaha, that's the funniest post I've ever read.

I'd go with Captain Miller (Tom Hanks) from Saving Private Ryan to show him the beach isn't all bad.

There is no beach-related movie I can think of for Antonio Banderas. I just want him to apply sunscreen in liberal quantities all over my body.

Phew. Warm in here.

And I thought Nathaniel would say "Dickie Greenleaf."

2 options:
1. Carolina. Salma Hayek in Desperado.

or

2. Rusty Martin. Ann-Margaret in Viva Las Vegas.

1. Ian McKnight (Alessandro Nivola in Laurel Canyon)...mmmm.

or.

2. Frank Whitaker from Far from Heaven. He's clearly sick of those fake, plastic pool resorts with Cathy...I'd want to show him some real hardcore beach time.

Ariel. The Little Mermaid.

Ariel or Clementine Krasinski (Eternal Sunshine). I think I'd have ablast with either one or the other.

Oh, Ariel is a great answer.

Cedric from Come Undone. Mmmmmmmm....

Easiest question ever.

I would take the dad and the son from The Road (though technically this isn't a movie yet) and finally let them see a real, blue ocean. Don't tell me they didn't deserve it.

And if I were more selfish I would take Julie from Swimming Pool.

Seita and Setsuko from Grave of the Fireflies.

I like feeling depressed beyond all reason when I go to the beach.

The Black from "The Black Stallion", one of the most beautiful movies ever made. Oh, the elemental joy of being alive with one of the most wonderful beings ever to exist. The incredible speed of racing through the waves, down the beach ...

Clearly the answer (as ja pointed out) is Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.

Aside: What's with the sudden surge of Theron and HALLE BERRY (?!?) in the Best Actress voting? I smell funny business (especially in regards to the miraculous vote total for Transamerica's Huffman). Julia Roberts has fallen from the top 3? Not. good. Not good. at. all.

I contest the Craig as Bond answer with the assertion that Cedric (Stephane Rideau) is not only hot and bronze in a swimsuit, but also French and gay. So if we're being realistic here, and not just starstruck, I think that'd make a much more satisfying weekend at the beach.

Iron Man. He'd obviously have to take off the suit first, and we'll just see where that leads.

Rar.

Dudley Moore from "10."

Him flailing around on hot sand in a baggy gray sweat suit would def. be amusing as I sipped daquiris and got Bo Derek corn rows...

Oh, tough one.

Maybe that person who Leo played in The Beach. Don't remember his name, but him.

frenchie from "grease." we'd smoke cigarettes and swear alot. total fun.

deborah send him over here next week. I mean, if his hands are already smeared with sunscreen...

js good catch. he'd probably be #1 if he weren't so damn self-centered

mikadzuki that answer almost made me tear up. oh that book hurts my heart.

ja i so thought that that would take me to one of the 5 billion photos of Hugh Jackman at the beach. But where it took me is also a neverending delight.

par will you please take photobooth black and whites with her. Those always become classics.

OK, so boo to the lack of love for Stephane Rideau.

NATHANIEL R said...

i think he's loved. just not loved publicly and in the open if you know what I mean. I have lots of room for him in... oh, never mind.
