Please sir, I want some good news surrounding the fate of independent cinema, for it seems to be going the way of the dinosaur.

Ooh, Hollywood, if you wouldn't mind, I'd also love a side of Diane Lane in high-quality films. If you've got some extra lying around.

NATHANIEL! You must watch this:

Nathan Fillion, Neil Patrick Harris, and Joss Whedon have made an internet musical extravaganza.

Off the top of my head: more Janet McTeer and more Vera Farmiga. Actresses who think on screen. I expect Hollywood will eventually give me more Vera, but after Tumbleweeds I was really hopeful of more Janet. Theater's gain but cinema's loss that she's worked so seldom. (Nathaniel: rent Tumbleweeds already!)

More non-geek genre films (that'd be musicals epics, etc). More oddness in summer blockbusters - like Speed Racer or, even though I havent seen it, Hancock at least has people talking. More talent being rewarded over infamy. More quality dialogue. Where's the next Woody Allen?

more categories at the oscars like nat's unequalled film bitch awards then everyone who may not get recognition gets it!!!

Cengiz's Lament (in the style of Adelaide's Lament from Guys and Dolls)

It says here:
The average unhappy movie-goer
Basically insecure
Due to some long frustration may react
With psychosomatic symptoms
Difficult to endure
Affecting the upper resperatory tract.

In other words, just from waiting around for that lovely little Joan Allen
A person can develop a cold.

You can give him wherever you figure where Jessica Alba lurk
You can give him a shot of Hillary Swank, but it just won't work
If he's tired of getting the fish eye from the Box Office clerk
A person can develop a cold.

It says here:
The movie-goer remaining unhappy
Just in the legal sense
Shows a neurotic tendancy, see note: (See note? OH!!! SEE NOTE)
Chronic organic symptoms
Toxic or hypertense
Involving the eye, the ear, the nose, and throat.

In other words, just from worrying if the Musical is on or off
A person can develop a cough.

You can feed her all day with the Horror A and the Comedies
But the medicine never gets anywhere near where the trouble is.
If he's itching to break into song and dance, but the beat's too tense
A person can develop a cough.

And furthur more, just from stalling, and stalling,
And stalling the movie trip
A person can develop la grippe.

When they finally get Michelle Pfeiffer
And he can hear church bells chime
The popcorn is extra buttered
And the mood sublime
Then they get off at Renee Zellwegger for the fourteenth time!
A person can develop la grippe,
La grippe.
La post nasal drip.
With the wheezes
And the sneezes
And a sinus that's really a pip!

From a lack of a good movie
And a feeling he's starting too mold
A person can develop a bad, bad cold!

That's what I want: Joan Allen, Musicals and Michelle Pfeiffer. And I sang for it.

Geez, I just saw Gods & Monsters. Ian McKellan & Lynn Redgrave are freakishly good. I mean.....just watch it & you'll understand. More of these two actors please!! I'd love to see Lynn in a sinister role. I think she'd kill it.
