Norah's Infinite Cleavage

I love actresses like Christina Hendricks, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Winslet and Kat Dennings. For a while there, I thought that guys preferred stick figures over breasts. Glad to see cleavage is making a comeback.

Oh. I'm so sorry you did that.
Kat would be embarrassed by that, and she is so much more then her cleavage.

And I am so sick of people thinking it's okay to call thin women stick figures. Most can't help being thin any more then someone can help being busty, or short or fat.

I was thin my whole life and it is hurtful when things like that are said. You think I didn't want breasts?!

Can we just respect that everyone likes a different body type, and that's okay, and women should NOT have to feel bad about whatever type of body they have?

And you wonder why there is so much plastic surgery being done.

I think it's funny that the man with the Audrey Hepburn avatar is throwing around the stick figure insult.
Hepburn was painfully thin as well. She was just built that way.
Still beautiful. Still sexual. Just slender, and no infinite cleavage either.

Ahhh... thank you Nathaniel!!!

I heard a nasty rumor that Kat Dennings and Robert Rodriguez may have "a thing" going??!??! But, again, it is totally one of those leaks from somebody who knows somebody who read into a comment that may have been nothing at all.

Still... she could do much better.

So my initial reaction was to post something silly about how Michael Cera certainly has a lot of discipline, being able to look forward at the camera.

But now this has turned into a whole body image things. So here's what I think: Consumer culture will never pick a winner between slim, small breasted women and curvy, large breasted women because doing so would risk the possibility that that demographic would develop a good body image and no longer purchase fashion magazines. It's much more lucrative to keep everyone miserable.

But really... Marilyn Monroe was beautiful. Audrey Hepburn was beautiful. That's the argument right there. Size don't matter.

But seriously, even the small chested ladies have to admit... Michael Cera is showing great discipline in that picture.

First, I am not a man.

Second, I probably should have phrased my comment with more care. I understand that some women are built petite (à la Hepburn). However, as a masochistic reader of fashion magazine, it pains me to see so few women I can relate to physically. My favorite example is Kate Bosworth: so fit and gorgeous in Blue Crush, now looks like a lollipop.

And I'm sorry anonymous if I offended you. However, don't throw yourself a pity party. You fit society's expectations even though they are hardly the standard. Women are killing themselves and having plastic surgery every day to be as thin as possible.

I just was trying to say that it's refreshing to see celebrities that have body types that are slightly closer (because, let's not kid ourselves, these women are still pretty frakking thin) to what the norm is.

Of course I agree that beauty comes in all shapes in sizes. It's just that Hollywood seems to favor one end of the spectrum far more than the other.

anon 12:46 .... the post was meant with affection. I love her cleavage ;)

but i hope you do understand that everybody feels like they can't win when it comes to body types. it's human nature to have issues with self image.

I've never been particularly happy with my cleavage.

Yikes. Now that Evan Rachel Wood is out of the picture, I'm sure Marylin Manson is lining up his net catch.

MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS - easily the most underrated cinematic cocktail of the year. (I speak of the shorter version that screened this year.)

The first movie I saw her in was Raise Your Voice and I'm so glad she's getting leading roles.

Robert...very well put, and still laughing about Michael Cera.

And Dom...I hate to say this out loud, but, Kate Bosworth has a coke prob...that's why she's a stick figure. I agree she looked much better before.

Thanks everybody for the mature comments, and giving me hope in humankind!

Please don't wish Manson on my Kitty Kat!

It would be too weird anyway since Kat dated Evan's brother for three years.
