Devora you will always be my love
This is my mood today exactly.
Oh and btw, life is great just for the fact heavenly creatures such as these exist.
The first film that ever kicked me in the guts and made me see that movies could be more than just something to do on a rainy afternoon when you couldn't go outside and do something else with your teenage friends.
When Titanic came along, and suddenly everyone knew who Kate was, I felt like they were stealing her from me.
How I wish Melanie Lynskey was getting more, and better, work...
Stunning movie.
It's funny, I don't remember this particular scene but immediately thought, 'Heavenly Creatures!' Peter Jackson sure knows how to make a film resonate. It stays with you long after the final credits.

I keep wanting to steal this idea of a post from you for my own blog, Nathaniel... this was my chance to do a legit one, at least.
So maybe I'm just seducing you with something no (sane) person can resist, a lil' Heavenly Creatures, so you'll be blind to me eventually ripping off these kind of posts.

What a GREAT image from this movie!
Confession: I previewed this film in the very short period of time I worked for a film festival and knew nothing about it when I saw it. It was an exhilerating way to watch this film -- needless to say, I was shocked, floored, transfixed. Who knew what was to come of all the major players in this film?
