It's been six years since American Psycho premiered and I still feel ashamed that I find Christian Bale so freaking sexy in it. But never mind. I only use this as illustration. Though it does relate (tangentially)
As promised the Actors of the Aughts countdown resumes today. Click there to read about the latest adds to the list:
Ross, Everett, Howard, Hitchcock, and Theroux.
For those keeping track that's two more American Psycho alums (The man himself, Christian Bale, will show up as well, sillies, but not for a good. long. while.)

well possibly because he's an axe wielding lunatic.
not exactly boyfriend material...
When I laid eyes on Christian in that movie I died and went to heaven, came back down to earth and fell in love. My. Freakin'. God. I don't care about the homocidal murder thing, what I care about is that face, that body, that everything. Plus - he's a great actor to boot. If this were my list he's be right up there in the top 10. Someone I'm really quite intrigued about their placement is Chiwetel Ejiofor. He's my favourite male newcomer of the last couple of years I reckon. Something about him...
On the new additions though - all good. And while you say American Psycho looks good all these years later, i'm sorta ashamed myself, to say that I knew it was that good years ago. And has, in fact, had a steady spot in my top 20 of all time since I saw it. I knew it was brilliance. It's spot changes occasionally but it's always present. I recently purchased the Special Edition and I love it even more.
well i knew it was good then too (just missed my top ten) but i love it more now.
as for chiwetel... i REALLY like what i've seen. it's just unfortunately barely anything. (1 movie I think?)
Chiwetel Ejiofor is fantastic. I hope the movie you've seen is Dirty Pretty Things, a film I haven't been able to stop thinking about since I saw it a year and a half ago or so. He's also terrific in Melinda & Melinda and a small part in Serenity.
alas i have only seen serenity
OK, well on the Chiwetel front: (1) rent Dirty Pretty Things NOW, (2) he's great in Melinda too, and (3) he's charisma personified (and in a just world Oscarbait) in Kinky Boots. He'd be right up if this were my list too.
As for Justin Theroux - I hadn't even realised he was IN American Psycho, but will go back and rewatch it now (love that film!). He was also cracking in Six Feet Under, but I guess that doesn't count.
Rob
See, Nathaniel, you've seen two of Ejiofor's films, not one. But I think you owe it to him to see Dirty Pretty Thing before you get too far on this list, especially since as I recall, you expressed disappointment at not having seen it way back when it was released.
I haven't seen it either then, so I feel you.
*then = though
I heart Christian Bale so much. So much that I can't bring myself to watch The Machinist.
dr. s. me too. me too. i just couldn't bring myself to see The Body like that.
Well you should! The Machinest is brilliant. Loved it. It's a film by filmmakers who love everything that film can do. A twisted scary noir-esque mystery. And yes, Bale is quite excellent in the role.
