With ten guests arriving @ our NYC apt for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, you are correct to assume that we have a ton of crap to do. I'm thankful to have wonderful friends to share the holidays with and I'm also thankful to have thousands of you to share daily movie thoughts with. I remain thrilled that when I check statistics I'm seeing more countries than I can ever hope to visit in my lifetime. (Just for kicks, here's a snapshot of about 100 recent visitors from 6 AM EST this morning --was one of them you?)
Well, I'm not thrilled that I can't travel the world but you know what I'm saying. In its own microscopic way the film experience has reach. THANK YOU (and, yes, I meant to shout) for supporting the site with comments, e-mail, donation dollars, enthusiastic reading and your own invaluably specific movie love.
Some other things I'm thankful for (off the top of my head)
Now you know how it goes here --participation! Name some things you are thankful for (off the top of your head), where are you visiting from? Let's hear from the lurkers, too. Even if you don't have a holiday to celebrate, it can't hurt to vocalize the positives.
p.s. I'll be back when my guests have fled. Coming soon: More Oscar talk, more Moulin Rouge!, reader requests, some Golden Globe prospecting (finally), Trips back to 1955 and 1997, an interview with a septugenerian film legend (!) and the usual mix of the serious & silly movie mad writings

You're welcome, Nathaniel! :)
Hm, let's see... I'm thankful for the internet, Alfonso Cuarón, and that I'm still breathing. And that the world hasn't imploded yet. Then we wouldn't exist! And we'd be deprived of The Film Experience! Hooray for survival! :)
Thought you might enjoy hearing from a reader and a fellow blogger. Nice job, interesting posts and nicely wrapped up today. Thanks for sharing your passion in print. I'll look forward to lots more. Happy Thanksgiving.
and Thank You Nathaniel for letting us hang out around here and doing such a great job! :o)
oh... and yeah I might be under one of those dots... Belgium is too small to be seen under so many of them! :p
Happy Turkey Day, Nat!
I am thankful for life, books, movies, and water in all its forms. I see only about three people from the Pacific Coast visited before 3 AM this morning. I wasn't one of them.
I'm into marathon Turkey week. Thanksgiving at Mom's with about 20 tomorrow; Thanksgiving at Dad's with about 15 Friday, and having people over myself on Saturday. Phew.
Thankful for people to share with, good food to relish, the language I love with which to chat, music to listen to, laughter, being woken up by orange cats, and yeah, movies.
Hi I'm from Mexico and I am VERY Thankful for your site.
P.S. I've just watched I COULD NEVER BE YOUR WOMAN!!!!!!

I'm thankful for this amazing conversation, Casablanca, fresh mint, and the ability to heal.
Happy Thanksgiving, Nat.
Coming to you from New Zealand!
I'm thankful for pretty boys, films and the Interwebs. And this blog for giving me entertainment every day!
I'm thankful that I actually got to see Blade Runner in a proper theatre tonight, something I never thought I would get to do.
I'm also thankful that you find the time to run such a kickass website, Nat. I'm so lazy at updating mine that I am in serious awe of the work you put into TFE.
I'm thankful for the recent rain that has drenched Melbourne. The endless entertainment provided by Nathaniel. As well as imaginative filmmakers whose desires are not motivated nor restrained by box office receipts and so shoot for the moon and the stars. Oh, and on Saturday evening I'm hoping to be thankful for an end to the unnecessarily long reign of PM Howard.
Here's my little dot from Connecticut, in a little town not so far away from you. I had no idea you had so many fans all over the globe but I'm very glad of it. Happy Thanksgiving, Nat!
(More Moulin Rouge to come? Oh, you just made my day!)

Happy Turkey Day from sunny downtown Phoenix! Thanks for the hours you devote to this blog, Nathaniel, and for being a catalyst for all of us who love film. Thanks for a great blog.
I'm not thankful that America has this whole "thanksgiving" thing and, thus, everyone stops blogging.
But I guess I'm thankful that the world is still here and hasn't been decimated.
i am thankful for... Kansas football, Brett Favre, The Film Experience, butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer, the number 12, facebook, and CAPSLOCK.
