Taking Care of Business

Boyd will be back soon with more from the Venice Film Festival but otherwise I'm taking a working holiday. The number 1 thing on my "to do" list when I return (Wednesday) is completing review requests from that fundraiser --I didn't promise when I'd write about those beloved movies but I do completely appreciate the saintly patience of the donors.

What do you want to see more of @ The Film Experience this Fall? podcast? interviews? series? guest columns like Boyd's? more of same? Speak up!

-Sincerely, Nathaniel needy type who likes feedback.

What would I like to see....hmmm...

Interview with other bloggers would be fantastic.

I love the idea of revisiting oscars past and deciding who, in hindsight, you would give the award to now.

But basically what you are currently doing is near perfection. Just keep it up!

I want Jennifer Jason Leigh. Big, fat, oozing slabs of Jennifer Jason Leigh everywhere. I want to see that divine, Oscar-bound bitch all over the place.

I definitely would like more reviews. Instead of just a grade, at least give a tiny blurb about the film.

The Idea pof revisiting past Oscars is so exciting!!!!
But seriuously, how can I complain about the best blog on the net??
If only you could finish the Moulin Rouge thing... but just keep trashing beelzebub and i'm your forever!

The idea of a podcast intrigues me, but as someone who tried to do one and failed miserably, they are a LOT of work and a big time commitment, so I don't want poor Nathaniel to overwork himself more. :-D

I'd love to see the Oscar actressexual contest come back next year, but perhaps in all the major categories? Or maybe just including Actor and Picture and Director? That may be a logistical nightmare to keep track of, but just a suggestion.

Other than that, keep up the good work. Not much else I can think of. :-D

honestly keep doing what you're doing....we;re just lucky to be reading :) continuing the podcast every so often on RA might be fun to if the host ever comes back from vacation :)

i have stepped up the reviewing --over in the sidebar if you click on any of the screenings with links it'll take you to the review. It's usually for ZOOM IN. They pay for the reviews which is why some of them are elsewhere :) it's a tiny step on my way to making a living as a writer so I hope you'll all click over.

Just keep doing with whatever you're doing! This blog is fantastic, you always seem to have something funny/insightful/intelligent to say. Keep up the good work, in short.

I'm with vs on the Moulin Rouge essay - other than that, just keep on keepin' on, Nathaniel. (I love that you're actually able to get paid - albeit modestly I'm sure - for your writing because you deserve it.)

Actually, I'd love to see a book with your name on the title at Borders someday,(if Vito Russo can, why not...?)but that wasn't your question, was it?

'twould be lovely, Nat. *crosses fingers*

Oh, now that you've recycled the history of Jodie Foster, I wouldn't mind seeing more "history of" in that vein. And the more I think about it, the more I like Michael Parsons idea (above) of you revisiting Oscars past (especially the best actress catagory, but really any catagory in a given year that suits your fancy.) Of course, trying to right AMPAS injustice could be a lifetime pursuit.

Let us know about the book, btw. (what's it about - novel? film history?)
