Back to the red carpet
Before I start live blogging (somewhere between 6:30 PM EST) I thought we should look to the person who will probably wear the weirdest, best or most swandress like fashion tonight. I can't recall if tonight's most deserving supporting actress nominee Tilda Swinton has ever made it to the Oscars before, but here are some things she has worn at various red carpet events.

* the asterisked outfit was not at a red carpet event but I included it because it's exactly what she was wearing the night I stood right next to her at a MoMA event here in NYC ~definitely in my all time favorite unexpected celebrity sightings list.

I will be walking on Cloud Nine for the next few weeks if Tilda wins tonight. That red carpet collage made me smile like a giddy maniac just now. What an original.

Oh Nathaniel...what would I do without you? My Oscar day consists of the following: people contacting me regarding my final predix, preparations for Oscar-themed festivities, finding an old VHS casette on which to record the telecast (I'm old-fashioned), E! on my television, and The Film Experience on my computer (periodically refreshed). Happy Oscar Day!!!!

The entire ceremony order has been leaked. Each song will be performed separately. Jack Nicholson is presenting a best pictures montage. Nicole Kidman is presenting the Boyle award. The Swankster is doing the In Memoriam tribute. Best actress is coming way too early on. Denzel's presenting best picture.

Holy crap, Nat. Have you seen this?

Apologies if you've linked to it and I didn't notice, but it's right up your alley.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Tilda dressed up in one of Christian and Chris' avant garde dresses from Project Runway. Can you just imagine her accepting the Oscar with that enormous, asymmetrical collar?

Did it occur to you guys that Cate may win Best Supporting Actress, the fact that she's pregnant? Rachel Weisz, Marcia Gay Harden, and Catherine Zeta-Jones won when they were very preggers...

Kidman looked so amating in 97 and in 2002 and in 2004 and.. you get the idea.
She has the best body when it comes to wear haute couture, so tall and slender, she almost looks alien.. well, I'm being told she's one

Anon, Marcia Gay Harden was pregnant when she was nominated for Mystic River, not when she won for Pollock. She wore a stunning red dress the year of Pollock, and I'm fairly sure she wasn't pregnant then.

also Annette Bening lost while very very pregnant, too
