Three Movie Day?

I'm locked out of my apartment so having a three movie day (love ranch, winters bone and knight and day). Haven't done this in awhile!

When's the last time you had a three movie day? What did you see?

By coincidence, I had a 3-movie day yesterday: Visconti's Ossessione, The Ghost Writer, and Milk! (And I rank them best to not-best in that order, too.)

I'm so sorry you're locked out but I LOVE 3 MOVIE DAYS! In movie theatres as opposed to home, right? Or at least in screening rooms for you, huh? I had one this past spring but I can't quite remember what I saw. You're seeing a wonderful collection! Where are you that Love Ranch is playing? In NYC?? What a wide range of movies. I'm so jealous!!!

I think it was a midnight marathon back in 2006 with Ask the Dust, Naked Lunch and Pi showing...

I don't remember my last THREE movie day, but I do remember my last FOUR movie day!

I was rewatching Best Picture nominees-Hurt Locker, District 9, Up, and Serious Man.

In theaters--- "Cheri", "Tetro", "Whatever Works" last summer...

The last 3-day movie fest I had was Funny Girl, The House of the Devil and Om Shanti Om last month. The one I thought was a shoo-in for the love (Devil) turned out to be the least good flick of the 3. The Streisand and Shanti were the winners that day... The one before that must have been - ouch - 1989: Ghostbusters II, Fletch Lives and Henry V (Branagh vers.)

I watched Death Wish at home before seeing a double bill of Inglourious Bastards and then The Room. In retrospect, it was a pretty exploitative mix.

tomorrow in theater with "bébés","dog pound" and "the A team"

If we're talking exclusively theatre, then never. However, I frequently do marathon Netflix and OnDemand viewings.

Outside of the house it's happened last at Sundance where I'd usually see four a day. At home it happens frequently at weekends when I like to gather friends at my place and do a marathon on a specific theme. Last was a Douglas Sirk marathon but that had to be interrupted by lack of handkerchiefs.

Today as a matter of fact:) Via netflix instant play, the love of my life! Watched "Shakespeare in Love", "Steel Magnolias", and "In the Mood for Love". Each for the first time! Definitely was a successful day!

No Country for Old Men, Juno, Sweeney Todd.

It was at the beginning of November.

A Christmas Carol, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and The Box.

They were decent-to-okay, but it was still a pretty fun time.

Long long time ago! Actually I might need a movie break: I just saw "The Blind Side" and I feel like I need full-time therapy.

Oh, it's been too long. Tonight, perhaps...

A couple of years ago during the summer. The flicks you ask? Well, there was Bewitched (ouch), Batman Begins (fairly good), and finally Mr. and Mrs. Smith (a mixed bag, but fun).

I was watching Meryl Streep movies for my English assignment and I watched three in one day: "Postcards from the Edge", "The Bridges of Madison County", and "Music of the Heart".

I did it back in 2008 the first time (Rachel Getting Married, Slumdog Millionaire, Milk) and again in 2009 (The Lovely Bones, Up in the Air, A Serious Man).

:)

I like it :D

I think I've done a fair number, but the one that sticks out is all three Lord of the Rings films. I can't really watch them till this day.

All three Toy Story's in 1 Day? Sounds like one of the Best. Days. Ever. (And no, I don't watch modern Simpsons episodes. Although, on TV news, I'll probably finally watch an episode of THE WIRE. (My Current Best TV Show EVER is held by Arrested Development. (I like Mad Men more than most "formula TV", excepting Seinfeld and The Big Bang Theory, but it doesn't go much of anywhere plot wise.) Arrested is a plotted comedy, an end always in mind, even if they don't know yet what it is, every line, every joke, every scene filled with verbal curlicues, cultural lambasting and foreshadowing, all this while the characters are written with every ounce of the dead-on understanding Preston Sturges possessed. And, (relieved sigh), that ending. Do we even need a movie, even though they tantalise us with one?)

This past Saturday I saw A-Team and Iron Man 2 in theaters and then went home and saw Valentine's Day.

The next day I saw When In Rome and Invictus.

Wasn't really a great weekend for movies. Heh.

I've only had two 3-movie days - the last in 2006. Triple feature consisting of: Little Children, Notes on a Scandal, and Children of Men.

T'was awesome. I got some Patrick Wilson, a little lesbian Judi Dench, and then a healthy dose of Clive Owen (not to mention 3 way better than average films).

I think today will end up being a three movie day for me. I watched Amelia and Army of Darkness for camp value with some friends earlier. Now I'm stuck between watching either Gangs of New York or the remake of The Manchurian Candidate (I haven't seen either.

When did they do Sawfest? For Saw IV? Cause that was the first and last time I've done 3+ movies outside of the house in a day (ish). I pretty regularly do 3+ in a day on the weekend, but that's at home. Two weeks ago, I did The Fly (original), The Fly (Cronenberg), and The Fly II.

I don't think I've had a three day movie day since 2006 (in the theaters, that is): Flags of Our Fathers, Marie Antoinette, and The Prestige. I totally struck out and was underwhelmed by all three. :(

I love three movie days! But I definitely think it only counts if all three are in the theater! None of this two at home and then go to the theater...it needs to be a true marathon! I think the last one I did was in 2007 (although I've done several two movie days since)...it was PotC: At World's End, Surf's Up, and Mr. Brooks. I enjoyed the day, but the first two were best. I love Surf's Up. I think I might do a three movie day soon though....I feel one coming on now that you mention it...

I've had a pretty freaking slow summer so far so I've had about 7 of these 3-movie days for the last couple weeks.
I know, pretty lonely
Today was Elegy, The Mist, and Apocalypse Now
Questions/comments?

I only remember going to three movies in a day once. In the order I watched them:

1. Babel
2. Marie Antoinette
3. The Prestige

It was a good day.

i'm glad other people enjoy them.

Alex -- I think it only counts IN the theater. but multiple movie days at home are fun too (as are multiple episodes of series days)

Kevin -- Netflix instant watch is also the love of my life. what a slut it is how it gets around. It's polyamorous.

Philip -- you should. if you do it really often movies start to blur together which is both horrible and amusing (depending on the movies)

Nathaniel, was Love Ranch really that bad?
