The Serenity Prayer: Julianne Moore Edition

God grant her the serenity to accept the things she cannot change
Evolution, The Forgotten, Laws of Attraction, The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio
The courage to change the things she can
The A-list auteurs will be waiting when she tires of mediocre material
And the wisdom to know the difference
Whether or not she ever wins an Oscar is beyond her control. It's in their hands. 'Let Go and Let God,' Julie. Let Go and Let God

Oh Julianne... do try to make better movies.

I have my fingers crossed for Freedomland.

I'm depressed by the news that Juli's role in the next Todd Haynes flick is just a cameo. On the other hand, I couldn't be more excited about her upcoming projects with Alfonso Cuaron and Tom Kalin. Stick with the auteurs, Juli, please.

I'm kind of dreading Freedomland, but I hope she's good in it. Not too excited about her next Freundlich cooperation, but she's typically excellent in them, so here's hoping the rest of the film is as good.

I thought she was miles above the material in Prizewinner, unforunately she didn't elevate the rest of the film with her.

We'll always have: Short Cuts, Vanya on 42nd Street, Safe, Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, The End of the Affair, Magnolia, Cookie's Fortune, The Myth of Fingerprints, World Traveler, Far from Heaven, and The Hours.

The only reason I am even remotely anticipating Freedomland is because of Julianne and one my favourite gals Edie Falco (robbed she was for Sunshine State!)

Other than that it just doesn't appeal to me. One of those tiny movies that screens for a week and doesn't get released here for months and by that time nobody cares about it anymore.

But... EDIE and Julianne!

(Don't knock Julianne in Hand that Rocks the Cradle. That power suit was uber-fetching and man, that death scene is hilarious)

JULIANNE IS THE BEST. Her performance in "Far From Heaven" is one of the best performances I've seen in the last ten years. But I haven't seen "The Prizewinner of Defiance Ohio" yet (because I'm from germany). COULD she win an Oscar for this one??? HOPE SO!!!

Julie was wonderful in "Far From Heaven", "Short Cuts", "The Hours", "Magnolia", "An Ideal Husband", "Cookie's Fortune", "The Forgotten", "Surviving Picasso", "The Shipping News"...
