I wish I had opened this site sooner! I love Crimes of the Heart, it's so good. Sissy should have won the Oscar that year.

Nicholas -- i haven't seen it in years but I do remember ENDLESSLY quoting Sissy Spacek's head in oven excuse "i was having a bad daaaaaay"

@ NATHANIEL R, I love that scene, her character was just so great! I even kind of liked Jessica Lange in it which is rare for me.

@Nicholas. --- Are you me? ha ha. That's one of my favorite Lange performances and generally speaking. I don't "get" her at all.

Love Sissy is that! She was so criminally underused after that period. Taking a 3 year or so break to raise her young family then back to business in the early 90s with some great pictures like JFK and Long Walk Home. Then some great stuff in the late 90s with Affliction and Straight Story. Then a majestic, fiery performance with In the Bedroom. Given her brilliance though, underused since then. Loved her in the upcoming Get Low, but why isn't she in more stuff?!
