The Money Shot

Dave here, just noting that the finest moment of last night surely came before the ceremony had even begun. When the star of Precious met the somehow ever-present Ryan Seacrest (tell me, Americans, is he on every single show you have?)...

"If fashion was porn, this dress is the money shot."

Gabourey Sidibe might not have won the Oscar many might claim should have been hers (I begrudge Sandra Bullock nothing, but count me in that camp), and maybe she'll never be back here again, but with lines like that her wish to move into comedy - with TINA FEY (please pay attention Tina) - makes more sense than anything else I heard last night. Let's hope she doesn't sink into obscurity; or, worse, take over from Queen Latifah. (That girl's getting old after all.)

Could be an avenue to go down or at least attempt. I think alot of people assume, due to her look and style, Sidibe is the least likely of the nominees (along with her Precious co-star) to repeat their feat. Hopefully we're very wrong.

Well, isn't she in the Laura Linney Showtime show? That'll make sure she doesn't fall into obscurity just yet...

I loved it when she said "bump it" to Keanu reeves before he left. I laughed so hard.

Unrelated: I love Laura Linney but I don't know if I like her doing a TV show. All the good actresses are doing it: Toni Collette, Holly Hunter, Sally Field (I think she's good). It's like they give up.

Lucky... i think Sally Field is good too. But the problem is that the grind of a tv show can really encourage an actors worst habits. When you're playing the same character constantly it can get really phoned-in or lazily broad.

not that this applies to all tv shows. the limited episode ones don't seem to have that same problem.
