Happy Birthday, Miss Crawford!

Long before she became a sort of demi-gorgon, Joan Crawford was known as a great actress and an icon of beauty and glamour. These fabulous George Hurrell portraits not only documented that image, they helped create it.

Thanks, CD!

Sometimes it's hard to believe that she was just a human being. If, indeed, she was!

My gosh you are absolutely right (that is kind of freaky.) I would hate to see a biopic do to Gillians career what it did to Faye's, but since Gillian doesn't seem to have any career to speak of right now, there's no harm in trying.

Those eyelashes look like they can walk (or crawl) themselves right off her face but those clothes? *sigh* Pure, absolute bliss. Sharon Stone et al can try for this sort of glamour but they will never ever achieve it.

Joan Crawford in GRAND HOTEL is the most goreous woman I've ever seen. It's a shame about how she was later, but I'll always have that.
