How Much Does David Lynch Charge For a Headshot?

The irrepressibly odd auteur behind Mulholland Drive and INLAND EMPIRE recently shot eight très jolie actresses for French Elle including TFE international favs Emmanuelle Béart and Charlotte Rampling (you'll recall that both actresses made my top 100 of the aughts a couple years back). You can see what David Lynch came up with for all eight stars (including covergirl Monica Bellucci) over at Oh No They Didn't!

I can't say that I find the photoshoot particularly stunning but I enjoy multi-hyphenate cinematic types --actors who write or paint, directors who dabble in other mediums, yes! David Lynch is king of the dabbling, isn't he? Television, film, comic strips, coffee making, and photoshoots. What hasn't he done? Jokesters might answer "made a coherent film" but, you see, he's done that too.

Are there any multi-hyphenates you're fascinated by?

lol... how could i say anyone else than madonna? yeah, she gave up the acting, but there she is pop icon, brilliant artist most of the time, manager, mother and philanthropist. now she's going behind cameras; the idea of madge and cinema still make some screech their teeth, but who knows what's going to happen.

my guess is that she'll prove a better director than an actor --if she sticks with it enough to get past the learning curve. She's got brilliant artistic instincts even if the emotional facility wasn't quite there for naturalistic acting.

i totally agree. as a fan my opinion is mostly biased [except for that horrible "hey you" song], so i really have good hopes on her director skills. but let's also hope that people don't decide to hate it even before seeing it, just because it's her.

Can David Lynch cast this bevy of French exotics in his next movie? THat's be pretty darn sexy.

It's too early (5am!) for me to be thinking though so I'll answer the q when I get home from work in 12 hours (grrr)

Actually, DL was already a painter before he ever directed a film.

Speaking of multi-hyphenate, shooting Inland Empire in digital allowed him to control editing as he never had before. As a long-time fan, I'm not entirely satisfied with the result

I think Carrie Fisher is notable...writing, books and screen plays, and acting...and now...judging (On the Lot). Which, with all these reality shows out there, has become an arftorm in and of itself.

But really, I like her thoughts and love her ability to admit to her flaws...

its true, David Lynch (aka as my fav director) was an artist before he became a filmmaker...and if you watch "The Early Films of David Lynch" you will see that his earliest screen adventures are nothing more than moving paintings (# of Men vomiting)...and (I can't believe I'm saying this) his other films logically (?!?!?!?!?!?!??) follow.

Dennis Hopper... his paintings and photographs are pretty highly regarded in their own right.
