Love Love Love Love Kate. I cannot wait to see what she does with her role in REVOLUTIONARY ROAD.

Kate's top five performances:
1. Clementine Kruczynski in ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
2. Ruth Barron in HOLY SMOKE
3. Marianne Dashwood in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY
4. Juliet in HEAVENLY CREATURES
5. and either Young Iris in IRIS or Rose DeWitt Bukater in TITANIC or Sarah Pierce in LITTLE CHILDREN or...you get the picture ;)

There should just be a holiday in her honor. Kate Winslet Creation Day!

Kate rocks my world. My favourite Winslet moments:

In Real Life:
Getting married (the first time) and having her reception in a pub with proper "pub grub", and not giving a stuff about media coverage or a magazine deal. Way to go.

On Screen:
In Iris: "Oh, and pa(r)ss the gravy!"

My favourite Winslet moment doesn't come from a film, but from an interview she gave to Letterman around the time of The Holiday. She tells this hi-lar-ious anecdote from when a journalist asked herself and Cameron Diaz to share the most surprising thing they each learnt about the other actress. Kate says she was trying to quickly think of something to say, hit upon the fact that Cameron has a huge appetite for somebody so slim and so came out with: "You know, Cameron could literally eat me under the table".

I usually hate this acronym, but the occasion calls for it: lol!

Happy birthday Kate! This woman didn't make me love her from the beginning but for some years now I think she is a marvel. I remember her serious work and at the same time, I remember that dance from Romance and Cigarrettes. Love you Kate!!

Happy Birthday, Heavenly Creature!

My favorite Kate's moment is from ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF A SPOTLESS MIND...the ugly doll scene...she just took my heart and so far she hasn't gaven it back to me.
I want deeply watch THE READER and REVOLUTIONARY ROAD...as I want she wins a particular golden boy soon...but I don't wanna talk about this now...I just want to say that Kate is one of the greatest living actresses and we must consider ourselves very lucky to enjoy her talent every time we can watch one of her movies.
Thank you Kate! Wish you the best and thanks again, and again, and again, and again...

I think Kate Winslet is a brilliant actress. Along with Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore, she is probably the best actress working nowadays.

my fave kate acting moment is from holy smoke where she cries in harvey keitels arms when she realises he is breaking hr down, why oh why did she get overlooked in 99 i'll never know.

my fave kate non acting moment was on parkinson a uk chat show in 2006 when she describes how her husband cried when he saw her in it and when she tells it she cries,a really lovely moment.

"I'm just a fucked-up girl who's lookin' for my own peace of mind; don't assign me yours."

She had the whole human race pegged right there. So frank. So honest. It's the moment that Joel and anyone watching the movie falls in love with her.

I love watching Kate shine in supporting roles, honestly. My two favorite Kate performances are hers in Sense and Sensibility and Hamlet.

Just noticed your current crushes section, Nate, and I have to say that even as a doubter of Luhrmann's talent after the disappointing Moulin Rouge, that trailer for Australia got me salivating with expectation all over again.

But the thing I actually wanted to ask was why the Christina Hendricks link goes to http://www.joebiden.com? I agree with you that she makes a character with relatively few appearances on the show fascinating to watch, and would love to read any further thoughts you have on that show.

My favourite memory of her is when she won the Academy Award for Little Children over Helen Mirren for The Queen =)

True. It was a great moment. Didn't Kate tie with Penelope Cruz for Volver. I think she did.
