First and Last, Excellent View

first and last images from motion pictures (excluding credit sequences)

Can you guess the movie?

It was the heavily touted but underwhelming Oscar bait [highlight]... THE SHIPPING NEWS (2001). Did you ever see that?

At first I thought Deliverance but you said it's from the last 10 years so I'm stumped. The Burning Plain? Total shot in the dark.

The title of the post "EXCELLENT VIEW" is the famous last line of dialogue.

Hallstrom was good. My Life as a Dog is a masterpiece, Gilbert Grape and that criminally underrated little gem Once Around are very very good... And then, Chocolat, Casanova, that flick with Jennifer Lopez? WTF happened to him?

I had it. I totally had it. Damn school, eating up all my winning time.

What happened? Look: You have to face that anyone who directs anything as tepid as The Cider House Rules is clearly over the hill. And don't even get me started on the mistake critics made with THE HOAX. Face it: It's one actor who was in one classic paired with another who could count Spider-Man 2 as his best acting job as the two most important characters. Surely this will be good, right?
