updates to the jukebox in your sidebar... (refresh your screen)

Madonna "Buenos Aires" from Evita
On account of it's Eva Peron's birthday tomorrow. And it's always Madonna's day.
Scarlett Johansson "Summertime"
I haven't heard any updates lately about Scarjo's music plans but she was supposed to be recording a CD and Broadway is also courting her. If you haven't heard her voice, take a listen. Whaddya think?
Marilyn Manson "Heart Shaped Glasses"
I tried to keep the music movie oriented here so with this one it's just this: Having long since lost Rose McGowan, the rocker is still dating from the actress pool: this time tis the very talented and very young thespian Evan Rachel Wood (thirteen, Across the Universe). Bizarre but true.

She has a good voice, not sure how strong it is though. However it does have anice bluesy feel and fits the song well.

I'm going to defend Scarlett's singing until I die or she truly disappoints me.

i like the voice but i wonder about her intrepretative skills. that plan we heard to cover Tom Waits seems mighty risky.

At one time I think Scarlett's voice really suits that sort of oldschool blues, but then I'm not a huge fan of that style of music (I can stomach a few songs but an entire album is hard) and I'd love her to have a go at full on rocking out or dancing up a storm.

That's ScarJo??? It's so HIGH... it sounds nothing like her speaking voice at all. She always struck me as the type of actress who would never even try singing. But I expected that if she did, she'd have a Judy Garland/Karen Carpenter contralto. Nowhere near as good as those two, but that range.

That voice freaked me out. I still can't see it attached to ScarJo's body.

Also, Nat, are you deliberately avoiding talking about Spider-Man 3? You'll have to do it sometime...

Ah, but that risk is what makes me so interested. The last thing I need is another young actress I like doing a crappy pop album.

Speaking of Evan Rachel Wood...she blows Scarlett away in the singing department. She and Jim Sturgess sing the ballads live in Across The Universe. Also, I saw her sing at Sundance a few years ago and wow, did she have the goods.

I hope this Manson thing is short lived. She is a talented actress and singer and a sweet girl. Unfortunately, very impressionable it seems. She thinks M.Manson is an artist.
