Despite the hoopla of the boring
BFCA choices in most categories, I don't think the Oscar race for Supporting Actor is cleared up just yet. With such a diffuse category it could still go in interesting directions (particularly with the Globe nominees arriving tomorrow -
my predix here). But I'm thinking more of my own awards today anyway. Where they are now. Where they might be headed.

That's my top 20 at this moment (in random order... though I kinda feel like I'm forgetting someone. Hmmmm) --but who will make the cut? And will the remaining December films offer up more competition?

nathaniel looking @ your predictions i was wondering if you were aware that Shopgirl and the Upside of Anger as well as In Her Shoes have all been placed in the drama category by the HFP. Also, I'm not positive of this one, but I think Transamerica was placed in drama by them as well.
where do you find this info?
i was freaking out about this but it must have been while you were away.
here is the link from the LA times. I'm not sure how reliable this is but...
http://goldderby.latimes.com/awards_goldderby/2005/11/no_joke_hfpa_de.html
can't read that link once it passes 2005 and can't find it on their site either. hmmm
strange. i just reopened it and i instant messaged it to a friend. very peculiar.
Wait, where is Jake-or are you considering him lead?
Sorry to need the Cliff's Notes again, but who is second from the left in the second row, and what movie is Vince Vaughn in here for?
damien-i'm not saying the link doesn't work. just in comments if a link is long you can't highlight and paste the whole thing or see it.
nick -it's tom arnold in happy endings. the vaughn thing is be cool. he's the only way i got through the movie so i figured i should thank him with a photo op.
john -jake is lead. it's a romantic drama about two people. (therefore impossible for him to be supporting. ;) ...no comments on constant gardener please ;) because it's also a thriller murder mystery so there's more room for confusion about weisz's role size.
ok i found the page and i updated the GLOBE Predicts accordingly. (though i suspect some of the studios petitions will shift this further)
with so many films clearing out of comedy my prediction of PITT & JOLIE both being nominated (made months ago) is looking more and more likely to be true despite the lambasting i took for suggesting it. (though i'm not currently predicting Pitt --just Jolie.)
glad you found the link, and this is sort of putting a wrench in the best actress race. but you think Jolie before Aniston?
Any chance that the person you think you might be forgetting is Jesse L. Martin?
A boy can hope...
THANK YOU it was Jesse L Martin
i've fixed it.
So since you have a best cameo category, will you put Hurt in best supporting or there?
Where would you have put Judi Dench in 1998?
Hot picture of Clive there, btw. Grrrrrr...
Are you considering Val Kilmer in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang a lead?
btw, you still have Huffman in comedy/musical. Or is that actually going comedy/musical?
