Evil Doers

Yes, I will actually complete the Film Bitch Awards for 2006. I just need more hours in each day. Can you arrange that? Please and thanks.

They have no qualms about stealing children's toys and sailor's souls. They don't think twice about snuffing out the lives of cave spelunkers, indie filmmakers, or resistance fighters. They are the Best Cinematic Villains of this past year in film. [some spoilers required]

I meant to say please, also. Can't be rude now.

Yay some Descent love! I knew ya had it in ya, Nat. ;-)

And yes, I think it's implied the cave dwellers were human, a long time ago, before taking to the underground and all the evolutionary changes, not to mention inbreeding, that would seem to imply.

I thought Sergi Lopez was much better in "Dirty Pretty Things". He needs to do a comedy now.

BTW, the creatures in The Descent were called the crawlers. That's what they're credited as in the credits and on IMDb.

Some good villains in that list!

I hope for Hero of the Year there are the passengers from United 93. And as much as I didn't particularly care for the film, Al Gore.

I wonder if Superman will make the list.

But I'm not even wondering whether Nic Cage's character in World Trade Center will be there. Haha.

Ooh, let's predict the nominees for hero!

Superman
United 93 passengers
Al Gore
???
???

I suppose Wolverine will probably be there again. The film was bad, but Hugh is always awesome. Plus I can't think of who else would qualify.

No, Adam. No Wolverine this year. I predict D.J. from Monster House and Borat (does he qualify?). Hmmm... my other predictions would be Bond, Prince Jie from Golden Flower, and Theo from Children of Men with Al Gore as my alternate.

This is fun. I never thought to predict the FilmBitch awards.

Oh, there has totally been FB award prediction on this blog before.

DJ is a good pick, but I don't see how Borat qualifies. I also wasn't sure Bond would qualify... is he really a hero? Theo will totally be there, though, I forgot all about him.

I say:
DJ
Superman
Al Gore
Theo
United 93 passengers

...with Wolverine as an honorable mention, and possibly Bond in the mix if he counts.

Glenn Dunks said...

Yeah, James and Theo should/could be there. They're on my list.

Love, love, love how you included the MPAA!

Glenn Dunks said...

Apparently though the new man in charge of the MPAA wants more films to be released as NC17 to help erase the stigma behind it.

But nothing will get rid of it as long as places like Blockbuster and certain theatre chains refuse to show NC17 movies (unrated yes, NC17 no? That makes no sense).

Hey, why is Lex Luthor not one of the best villains?

Nat, do you hate Kevin Spacey THAT much?

NATHANIEL R said...

pretty much, yeah ;)

adam k. said...

Ouch. You must REALLY hate him if you won't even give him props for being hateable. Not even an honorable mention...

Kevin Spacey wasn't exactly that good in Superman. All rather blah. But, then, I'm not a fan of the movie.
