Sing-Along with the Gyllenhaals

It's Jake on SNL doing the Dreamgirls number (in case you're one of the 10 people who hasn't yet seen it) and then Maggie's awesome pipes from Happy Endings. Re: the latter performance. It's easily one of the best performances of the decade that most people are still unaware of. The only awards play she got was an Independent Spirit Nomination (& of course a Film Bitch medal last year). You don't wanna know how often I listen to this number "I Can't Wait"

Oh god, "I Can't Wait" is one of my favourite songs of 2005. Stunning. Can't believe she wasn't more loved by the critics that year even.

Who wants to post an MP3 of "I Can't Wait"? I know somebody wants to help a brother out. I don't wanna buy the entire album at iTunes, and I already have Maggie singing "Just The Way You Are" on MP3 (which I listen to on a semi-daily basis)...

In other news, I've stopped being mentally-scarred by Jake's Effie-drag and decided to embrace it. Yay me! Overcoming fake obstacles!

I saw it live.

I have severe emotional damage now because of that.

[shudders]

That could be the scariest motherf*cking thing I've ever seen.

And I've seen Happy Feet!

"How Lucky Am I" is also great, though brief in the film. I too think it's one of those great underseen performances. As much as I thoroughly enjoy the film, her presence is what really brings the film to life.

Well, I'm a fan of Brokeback and I didn't want to see Jake making laugh of it. I wonder if he needed money so much or if he's just an asshole.

4:27AM I don't think Jake was trying to make fun of Brokeback at all. If anything he was having fun with Dreamgirls. Sorry but I thought he was brilliantly funny and did it out of appreciation for the BBM fans. Some had issue with the "gay cowboys" in the audience but compared to all the lame and mean spirited jokes at the movie last year I think this was nothing. Also, while the writing was not good, Jake was funny and seems to have a great comedic timing. He was a great host and Maggie commented in an interview after the Golden Globes about how much she loved it.

And I think Jake sang the hell out of the song, even in though it was in a joking way. I would love to hear him sing a serious song. He was fearless and has amazing arms, even in sequins, lol.

Jake and Maggie have wonderful singing voices.
