This is one of those films that I never got. I couldn't stand it. Too precious.

Apoligies for ignorance, but what's this from?

Patricia Rozema's 'I've Heard the Mermaids Singing'. It was in my first year-end Top 10 back in 1988, along with a lot of weird art-house fare I've not revisited (Nic Roeg's Track 29, anyone?). Would be very intrigued to see if I still loved it now...

Wow, I thought I saw most of the films from 1988 and I've never heard of it.

Just seeing the photo of this on your blog this morning made me squeal out loud with pleasure. I haven't thought about this film in ages, and I enjoyed it so much when I saw it. Thanks for the memories!

What is that in the background? It looks like the CN Tower.
