I had the Robert Downey Jr rendition going on the iPod today. Great song.

You should add Calista's version of "Santa Baby."

That made me sad for some reason. I wasn't a fan of the show but I always liked the music. These clips reveal a sweetness missing from TV shows today.

I loved this show. I remember watching this episode and feeling touched at this scene. I still like Joni's version more, but this version ain't too shabby.

I just bought this on iTunes and it's such a lovely rendition. Can we get this show on DVD already?

You know, the only part in You've Got Mail that I like is the montage with Meg Ryan and that song. It's a lovely one, and it puts a lump in my throat everytime I hear it.

This is not the right place but we have to discuss it:

The Class and Rachel Getting Married are safe for The FB Awards. Has The Class really opened on the 19th?

Trouble the Water is a documentary, it will probably be dismissed for the competition.

Then, we have Milk, Reprise, Wall•E, and The Wrestler wrestling for the three spots. This is much more interesting than the Oscars.

Nathaniel, are you going to have some sort of "Guess the film bitch" contest? You do realize that you have to go that extra mile to make interesting what's turning out to be a very boring Oscar season so far.

marcelo "the class" did open on in nyc for its qualifying run and as I hinted before I have opted to ignore LA only qualifying runs from here on out (which means HUNGER will not be eligible for my awards but THE CLASS will)

my awards need to be NYC release focused since that's where I live ;) and in fact if these city critics organizations kept to this same standard you might see more interesting critics awards every year. I mean should kansas or oklahoma (random examples) film critics really be honoring movies as the "best of 2008" that don't open until 2009 in the cities they serve?

the know nothing er... probably not. but i'll do my best to make it fun for y'all.

I think his best actress is going to be

Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married"
Sally Hawkins for "Happy Go Lucky"
Famke Janssen for "Turn the River"
Melissa Leo for "Frozen River"
Michelle Williams for "Wendy and Lucy"

I wondered if Vonda Shepard was still singing and found out she's appearing at BB King's in New York City in January. Maybe she'll do an Ally McBeal medley.

FYI -

One of the best Christmas cds is Ally McBeal : A Very Ally Christmas.

I listen to it daily - Vonda Shepard, Robert Downey Jr, Jane Krakowski, etc.

It is worth the download - very much so!

I think Milk is safe for best picture in FB Awards. I hope Wall*E makes it.

I hope there will be some love for Blindness as well. Juliannne Moore is excellent in it, her performance in Savage Grace must be also considered. The cinematography, editing, score and makeup of Meirelles's film are worth nominating too.
