Linking Daisies

Boy Culture Tom Ford's OUT photo shoot. yum yum --->
I'm choosing to imagine that this is a playful counterpart to that Vanity Fair cover w/ Scarlett & Keira only gay and without star wattage or tinseltown glamour or... er. OK. They're nothing alike. Regardless, the version I was dreaming of back in 02/06 will never happen anyway.

Nick's Flick Picks
joins the film festival world. Wheee
Soft Citizen terrific Vancouver Festival TV spots. Funny angle to use because it's so true (thx Johanna)
ModFab breaks down Into the Wild for ya
Lazy Eye Theater wants you to know that _______ doesn't scare him
film ick lots of Golden Compass news
IFC says what I'm thinking about I'm Not There. They beat me to it.
Nikki Finke Warner Bros ignorant sexism and strange notions of box office cause & effect
The Evening Class interesting spoiler-laden interview with Ang Lee & Tang Wei on Lust, Caution
Philadelphia Inquirer the onslaught of Iraq war films: Redacted, Elah, Rendition, The Kingdom and more...

And over at Zoom-In, I've posted my reaction to the debut of the new maybe-hit show Pushing Daisies. I have a strange relationship to the cute and excessively stylized in filmed arts. I run hot and cold with that crap... very rarely lukewarm. So am I hot or cold on Daisies? You'll have to read the review for the full temperature reading but here's a sum up: Hot but I fear temperatures will be dropping precipitously

I too fell for Pushing Daisies but am worried about its ability to sustain such a precarious balance. Have you ever watched Wonderfalls, though, Nat? Bryan Fuller created both of these shows and even though Wonderfalls only got 13 episodes it had the same sort of smart-ass whimsy and sustained it beautifully for all 13, and if it hadn't been RAPED AND PILLAGED AND DESTROYED BEFORE ITS TIME I think it could've kept it up. So I'm hopeful here.

Hey, back off, mister. Tom Ford is mine. It’s a shame he hasn’t done anything spectacular after leaving the fashion world. And don’t get me started about François Henri Pinault not renewing my beloved Tom’s contract. Anyway, yes! I love Tom! :)

Um, Jimmy, you and I have to have a serious talk. Tom resurrected Gucci, breathing new life into the once struggling fashion house. He contributed greatly to their current success. Tom is highly respected in the fashion world. And he's hot!

well, I have since googled him, so now I know - mea culpa. I don't know much about fashion, except I watch "Top Model" on occasion. I thought he had something to do w/ movies. Saw his pic with the other fellas in the shower - his heiny is kind of flat.

he is worming his way into hollywood too jimmy. hence vanity fair's HOLLYWOOD ISSUE cover with him last year inbetween KEIRA and SCARLETT

Nat, everyone's been reporting that for the past few years. I'm getting really impatient. Is it really going to happen? Will he leave his mark in Hollywood? I hope so, but he needs to start making things happen.

Pushing Daisies was incredible. And so was Wonderfalls. At least that 27 million will guarantee a second season. [mild kinda smile]

Oh My God Jimmy, I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that. Miranda Priestly is the editor of runway. You work for her, and you can get a job at any magazine.
