First and Last, 3.33

the first and last images from a movie....

If that's not descriptive enough for you. Highlight the following clue (the first and last line of dialogue)
first: good evening, child
last: I can't wait to hear you play.

Can you guess the movie?

If you're still stumped highlight for the answer: Michael Haneke's The Piano Teacher (2002)

but did y'all need the "dialogue" clue. or were the images enough?

I didn't even notice that there was a hint. The slast scene is so memorable that the second picture was enough buy I looked at the first one again just to be sure.

I watched Anti Christ last night.

Another film experience so good it hurts.

Between the trauma of that and my recollection of this, I'm wishing I were a virgin, or abstinent, or not a man so that I could aspire to become a woman director, or something.

I mean if I'm going to watch a woman's sexuality be suppressed (repressed, oppressed, depressed), somehow I'd find it less disturbing (less gynosadistic) when women (like Breillat) are doing it to high critical praise.

Well, perhaps not less disturbing, but certainly less ridden with patriarchal guilt.

I swear on Isebvelle Huppert I didn't look at the dialogue. I've just watched the ending of that movie way too many times and it's stuck in my head.

Deus Ex -- does this mean you're a masochist?

verninino -- i think we should all aspire to be women directors.

I suspected it was The Piano Teacher and the dialogue just confirmed. That last shot was more obvious than the first.
