Christian Bale is Ready for a Fight

I didn't mean to send out weirdly prophetic vibes with that Hugh Jackman post but here we go. His Prestige co-star is DEFINITELY ready to rumble. Have you heard this awful screaming that Gawker posted of Christian Bale on the set of Terminator 4? (hat tip to HE). Someone needs anger management classes.

American Welsh Psycho.

Update: and now it's been remixed [NFSW --Bale has a pottymouth] by the guy who says he's producing RuPaul's new album. (thanks Ali) Here ya go

I really despise him. I never understood what all the fuss was about him as an actor, and the fact he's so worked up about what could easily be a shitty action sequel is really "amateur."

this is old news. supposedly, as McG said at least, this blew over and Bale apologized or whatever. McG apparently said he was good to work with.

@ Hayden - Bale probably blew this way out of proportion, but I can't believe your worried about someone getting worked up about his job. this is his career man, if you aren't getting worked up about it then you shouldn't be doing it.

Wow. That was not acceptable. I can't believe he got away with that. Not surprising, though... I find he always seems angry in all of his roles.

If you listen to the full version, here: http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/nsfw-bale-goes-ballistic-on-terminator-salvation-set, then you will hear that Bale said apparently the DP did it a couple of times. I can kind of understand why Bale went mental, if he was being distracting and wandering around behind (or infront?) of the camera fixing lights etc. while they are filming. Also, since it's Terminator, I can imagine the scene he was filming was supposed to be pretty intense so he had probably got himself into a mindset of aggression which carried over even when he wasn't "acting".

Hmm...
Makes me wonder about that incident with his mother and sister.

Can you image being in the DP's shoes and being screamed at like that?

Well, regardless of how "worked up" someone gets about a role, no matter how shallow or insignificant, he doesn't have a right be a bad person. There are plenty of incredible actors (most, in fact) who manage to care about their work without becoming complete asses.

Seriously, would something like this ever happen with Emma Thompson? She's twice the actor he'll ever be and that doesn't stop her from being the most charming, agreeable woman on the planet.

So I'm assuming that he and Lily Tomlin won't be making a movie with David O. Russell any time soon? Perhaps that Teddy Ruxpin movie or Care Bears sequel we've all been waiting for?

ha!

carebears. I think his voice is too deep... unless there's some rumbling in their tummies

Nolan needs to have him replaced...NOW!

Its kinda funny. Dude should stay out of the shot, yo.

@ Anonymous

Y? He didn't blow up on him on The Dark Knight set and Nolan seems to like him since he asked him to be in The Prestige outside of the Batman Franchise. I'm not excusing his behavior nor condoning him but I really don't think he should lose his starring role in Batman because of it.

Who cares if he's a dick as a person, if he can act that's what counts.

"he can act and that's what counts"

seriously!?! wow... i guess so.

bale yelling like that in front of the crew (including the boom op who's boom is obviously still at a close range) is just as "unprofessional" as the DP he accused of ruining the scene.

i also agree, though not a TDK fan, no way should the matter of bale ousted as batman be in question.

This stuff happens way more than you might think. It's pretty common that an actor blows up like this. Usually though, it isn't leaked to the press.

Haha this is epic.

the beginning sounded a bit FAKE to me.
But if it's true, than... I dunno... I didn't find it as awful as I imagined it to be and I guess it depends on WHAT exactly happened there (and how many times). Yet it's his reputation to damage in front of a director.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I now despise him; although like Anna I always found him to be angry at least in a lot of his roles. (Maybe that's why it's so hard for him to generate chemistry with his female co-stars because they're put off by his attitude?!?)

I do hope that he gets over himself though because while he may be a hot commodity now, look at Russell Crowe and how much his asshole behavior has hurt him now. Okay letting himself get terribly out of shape doesn't either, but all Christian Bale needs to do is look no further than former Batman, Val Kilmer on how not to manage your career by pissing so many people off that they never want to work with you again no matter how talented you are.

Also, while I do think he's certainly very dedicated to his craft, I would say that he's not as talented as even Val Kilmer is or any of those other people that come immediately to mind that stalled/killed their career with assholish behavior like Russell Crowe, Mickey Rourke, Edward Norton, etc. I guess he is as talented as Tom Cruise is, maybe moreso but it's hard to compare because Bale has more dedication to his craft, but I'm taken more by surprise by Cruise in the right role, and at least Cruise had a lot of hits before he set out to wreck his career once he no longer had Pat Kingsley as his publicist.

Really I just wanted to post because of this great link that I found, http://www.myspace.com/revolucian.

It's certainly much better music than most of the music they play on the radio stations here.

Whew, Christian Bale was an A-level asshole to that DP. You don't pull that mess on set like that. Wow, I'm shocked that he reached that level of dickhood.

Dark Knight indeed. Christian Bale can be heard in newly surfaced audio delivering a long, profanity-laced verbal thrashing to a cinematographer and anyone who tried to calm him down on the set of the upcoming movie "Terminator ...
