'A Glorious Songburst of Gayety and Gladness!'

On March 13th, the Musical of the Month party returns with Fred & Ginger in tow.

I'll be writing about Swing Time that day and if you write about it on your blog, live journal or a sheet of paper on that particular day, I'll link up right here. Watch it before then: Netflix / GreenCine.

The best Astaire/Rogers in my (and many others') estimation. Can't wait to read, and maybe even find time to write...

Swing Time: my favorite musical of all time! I can't wait.

"How funny you are today New York
like Ginger Rogers in Swingtime
and St. Bridget's steeple leaning a little to the left."

Oh good, I own this one. (Hell, I even wrote an essay on it. I could just post that.)

It is endlessly amusing that the poster goes out of its way to put the "gay" back in "gaiety"

What a ravishing, purely cinematic artistry these two had, and they still do!

dang! there's no way I'm going to find that dvd here for rent, I might have to end up going out and buying it! I've seen it, but not recently enough to write something up...

hmmm... might be worth the purchase... just for the chance to gaze at the Astaire/Rogers magic on-screen whenever I'd like ;o)
