First and Last 4

First and Last. Here's the first post credits shot of a movie and the last pre-credit scroll moment... with only one minor alteration so as not to give the game away.

Can you guess the movie?
Highlight for the correct answer: It's Superman II (1980) with the "Daily Bugle" masthead photoshopped out since that gives the game away.
Cinematography by Bob Paynter and Geoffrey Unsworth

Is it all the president's men?

It is not. But you're not too far off in the time frame.

James you're so close.

In order to not make it impossible to miss I had to obscure the sign on the building in the first frame. and the other big hint was of course the disappearing red in the last frame.

James got it. It's Superman 2. I just had to blur out the DAILY PLANET sign on the building ;)

Damn why did I also think this was Rosemary's Baby...is a glimpse of Superman in space really that creepy?

It would probably help anyone guessing to pay attention to the aspect ratio of the screencaps. The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, All the President's Men, and Network are all 1.85:1.

I would have guessed Superman, as I haven't seen the sequel. Geoffrey Unsworth's photography is pretty unmistakable.

LOL Nice one.

I'm assuming of course, this is a joke since Lester's opening and closing shots (among MANY others) were lifted directly from Donner's Superman: The Movie.
