I always thought Who framed Roger Rabbit could have had a decent sequel, but it never happened. I also think that there could be a follow up story to Chungking Express. That way we'd get to see Faye Wong reprise her role, YAY!!!.. don't you think that they left us hanging a little bit? And also, everytime I see Before SUnrise and how it became more prestigious after Before Sunset came out, I think about a sequel to Reality Bites... I mean, those guys went through so much by now! A good script, Winona, Ethan, Janeane...all back! Sigh, to dream....
Rocky Horror, most definitely. I watched Shock Treatment for the first time the other day and even though I'd heard nothing but bad things about it, I thought it was pretty awesome. I need a new dose of great, fun music like that for every day of the week. Hell, every day of the year =]
Murtada - there are kind of sequels to The Talented Mr Ripley. The book by Patricia Highsmith is the first in a series of 5 books. So there's also Ripley's Game with John Malkovich as Ripley, The American Friend with Dennis Hopper (!) as Ripley, Ripley Underground with Barry Pepper, and an earlier version of the Talented Mr Ripley (Plein Soleil) with the luscious Alain Delon playing the title role.
Although I haven't seen Plein Soleil, I doubt that the other films have the same evocative goldenness of Anthony Minghella's version.
For my seqeul, I'd like to see Fred Astaire dance some more, with either Cyd Charisse or Audrey Hepburn, so an imaginary sequel to The Bandwagon or Funnyface would be perfect.
i would've easily gone with Murtada's answer, but i love one of Daniel Amour's picks with Bryan Singer's X3 and X4. I'm sure he would've given the Dark Phoenix story the treatment it deserved (though Famke still managed to do a kickass job). Plus, he wouldn't have killed the franchise.
I just thought of one! maybe a sequel to ONCE. I grew to love the ending, but it would be so great for the guy and girl to find their way back together again and make beautiful music along the way. Plus, it would make "Falling Slowly" even more meaningful. The title of ONCE clearly works against me, but how about calling it ONCE AGAIN or something similar?
Where the hell is the sequel to THE GOLDEN COMPASS? I haven't heard anything about THE SUBTLE KNIFE or THE AMBER SPYGLASS. That makes me upset. Those stories are just begging to be put on the screen. Plus, Nicole Kidman! She was seriously perfect as Mrs. Coulter and it would be an injustice to not let her continue with her performance. I love the scene at the dinner table where she just oozed malice by just looking at someone.
Well, in reality, I just want another season of Lost right about now, but with a film, I'd go for a sequel to The Way We Were. I've never wanted a couple together more.
But for me, I want prequels-Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, in particular.

I would love to see that crossover sequel to pineapple Exprees & Superbad. On a gut level I'm pretty sure it would be hilarious despite a probable sparse plot. Otherwise, I'm sure that I'm not alone in hoping fro sequels to The Big Lebowski, Wet Hot American Summer and Kill Bill, if only for the excuse to watch Uma Thurman some more. And while I'm on a Tarantino related subject, Double V Vega would have been amazing
I'd love if they did a sequel to Once, but they would have to have Glen hansard and Marketa Irglova back to write the music. With the right director, and more music by those two, we may finally have a good sequel.

REAL - Sin City 2
IMAGINARY - Love stinkylulu's Addams Family suggestion. But I would love to catch up with the Royal Tenenbaums and see how the family's doing.
I know "sequel" is the name of the game but I've been dreaming of a prequel to Kill Bill Vol I featuring both Uma and Lucy Liu working together.
i'm gonna say Boogie Nights. One never knows what happens to porn stars when they retire, does one?
ticklepickleme and stinkylulul ooh i wanna see those, too
Anchorman 2. Actually I think that might eventually come to fruition. Will Ferrell needs a sure fire hit right now.
Well I just saw 12th NIGHT in central Park with Ann Hathaway, Audra McDonald, Raol Esparza and Julie White. It was amazing.
Ok, I know it's not a movie, but I would like to go back to the park and see 13th NIGHT
And I kind of want to see that bad sequal to THE LOST BOYS
I'd like a 3rd Before Sunrise/Sunset movie. "Baby, you are gonna miss that plane..."
Nick Cave's Gladiator 2.
Real - Aliens Duh. The most perfect sequel ever, and in my humble opinion best movie ever. Rivaled only by it predecessor.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf 2: "Get the Guests" again!
I want a sequel to In the Mood for Love, in which they finally realize what's good for them and get together already!!
I would also settle for Back to the Future 2.
Mulholland Dr: The Sequel that is meant to Confound you even more than Part 1 Did.

Eternal Sunshine....do they erase each other again or finally achieve relationship nirvana
The Talented Mr Ripley, particularly if it's he Tom & Meredith Logue story.

Master and Commander.
I want Heath Ledger to come back and do a sequel to "Two Hands."

Serenity immediately came to mind.
Serenity for me too. And also, not exactly a movie sequel by any means, but I'm dying for Friday Night Lights to come back for Season 4!

It's not a true sequel but I'd like to see a movie for Smallville starring Tom Welling and Erica Durance as Lois & Clark.
in your article about sequels, you said something about emily blunts character in the devil wears prada, that would be a nice movie to watch
I want a sequel to NICK & NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST that centres on Nick's bandmates and their love lives.
//I'd love to see what Dawn Wiener is up to in Welcome to the Dollhouse 2//
Ryan, director Solondz opened his 2004 film "Palindromes" with Dawn's funeral service.
moonstruck: Loretta loves Ronnie
A sequel to The Golden Compass.

Before Sunset sequel would be AMAZING, i cant wait for that 12 year project Linklater, Hawke and her are doing. Maybe it'll be a psudi-sequel?
