Guess Who? I Draw For You

Thought we'd try something a little different tonight. It's a game. Tell us how well you did in the comments. But first you have to watch...

p.s. I'd like to thank my friends at The Rec Show for pointing me to this nifty sketching device!

Oh Bugger.....I was so sure it was..her, then I thought Kathy....really cool idea Nathaniel.

It was like Scene it mixed with Pictionary!

Wow, I thought for sure Kate Winslet. Should've known it wouldn't have been that easy! Good one.

Loved the twist, you mini M Night Shyamalan.

Also, just read this - it's only just been posted on The Guardian website (and dated for tomorrow) so it's hot, hot, hot:

http://film.guardian.co.uk/features/featurepages/0,,2217447,00.html

A RAVE for Nicole Kidman in The Golden Compass: "this is the very best sort of part for her"; "juiciest character since...To Die For"; "Terrific central performance from Nicole Kidman, who may come to dominate our children's nightmares the way Robert Helpmann's Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang once did ours."

Yeah, the instant you drew squiggly water lines I too shouted Kate Winslet. I had to hit IMDb to see what movie Bates is a rabbit in... and I'm assuming "Hester" is somebody's daemon in Golden Compass but man I can't remember whose. Shame on me! I didn't guess Bates until halfway thru the sledgehammer, anyway.

This was great fun, Nat!

That link should actually read:

http://film.guardian.co.uk/features/featurepages/0,,2217447,00.html

Will this be another case of category confusion? Or is this kind of role not gonna get anywhere near awards? The Globes may clear it up a bit for us...

Er, why does it not post the whole link, even if I have it written out in full in the comment box? Is this a new e-blogger thing?

Wow, I didn't get this until you called it out. I guess I'm not a big Kathy Bates fan.

Was on a boat: Nicole Kidman - Dead Calm

was in the water again in other movie and kill herself: Nicole Kidman - The Hours

Isn't one of my favorites: well that's was when my theory went down.

i thought it was Joan / Faye / Mommie.....yelling "Christina...getthe ax!"

Hester is Sam Elliott's daemon in the movie.

vs --ooh, i hadn't realized how well Nicole Kidman applied until you typed that.

also people if you're trying to list links you gotta do the html

carrot than a(space)href(equals)(quotemark)thelinkinquestion(quotemark)(reverse carrot) word that if you're clicking it you'd put here carrot (slash) reverse carrot

HOW SIMPLE IS THAT?

NicksFlickPicks said...

I'm so glad Jimmy said that, cuz I was also like, "Faye Dunaway is in a movie? As a rabbit?" And we know she was in the water, because Mommie swims faster than little Christina.

But yeah, I'm basically awful at this game.

adam k. said...

Nicole Kidman doesn't apply that well cause her Virginia Woolf wasn't really a lesbian. She was just bicurious...

I got Kathy as you were drawing the mallet. Yay for me I guess.

Steven said...

Yay! That was fun.
I too thought Kathy Bates once you started drawing that weapon of sorts.
More, more!

I'm still trying to figure out what Kathy Bates has to do with Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

"Body language," I guess...

How cool is this? I started out thinking Kate Winslet, then went to Hillary Swank (lesbian who kills herself), then very swiftly to Charlize Theron (someone who's a danger to others) . . . I never got to Kathy Bates. The bunny rabbit totally stymied me. Rats!

I got it as soon as I saw the foot near the end

Great post Nat.

Here was my thought process.

Kate Winslet,

Laura Dern,

Charlize Theron,

And then Kathy Bates seconds before you gave it away. I'm really no good at these things.

I only got it when you drew the hammer.
