Good morning, Nat (or good afternoon, from my end).

Apropos of nothing, what does the "ouch" mean in your one-word take on "Gomorrah?" Harrowing, or simply painful?

Travolta is one of my faves. From Get Shorty to Hairspray, from Blow Out to Primary Colors, from She's so lovely to Pulp Fiction... I think he might be the most underrated star working today... everybody trying SO hard to make a joke out of him, but has anyone really considered that this guy has so much self control that is a pilot of B-747 by Qantas? Here I am, vindicating on my own ;)

guy -- relentless is what it means. damn that shit was harsh. as rough as HUNGER. sorta makes other films trying for harsh (like, say, blindness...) feel very safe.

I'm absolutely, 100% with you there, Nat.

Once I'd collected the tormented pieces of myself afterward, I realized I was blown away by Gomorrah -- one of only two 4-star films I've seen this year.
