I can't find my damn copy of this movie! One of my favorites, though.

the oscar nominees were

STREEP postcards
HUSTON grifters
ROBERTS pretty
BATES misery
WOODWARD mr and mrs

my nominees (at the time) were:

FARROW -alice

and i'm blanking on the 5th one????

with HUSTON being my winner. damn but that's a fine and spooky performance.

i think i had DERN in 6th but i never saw Joanne Woodward's performance.

but that was a long time ago and i wasn't even writing about movies or seeing more than 30 a year so i'd have to revisit.

I think she should've won that year:

1. Laura Dern - Wild at Heart
2. Sandra Bernhard - Without You I'm Nothing
3. Helen Mirren - The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover
4. Meryl Streep - Postcards from the Edge
5. Anjelica Huston - The Grifters
