Don't you?

Katey said "If you're seeing the movies and you haven't read the books," she doesn't understand why. This is a big sticking point for me and probably the reason this series becomes more frustrating as it wears on. In order for the movie to succeed on its own terms, I don't think that one should have to have read the books. The bigger this mythology gets, the more they leave out in the books and the more amorphous these characters become until they are making choices in this movie that make no sense whatsoever UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE BOOKS. That, as a film fan, is alienating and it means that as a movie, it fails. This should be remade as a TV series and given the breadth it deserves.Scene-Stealers jumps off of a Katey point on the new vodcast. Is Harry Potter better suited for a television series than the movies?
9 chatty moviegoers:
I like puzzles...and Jake! This movie is weird and slow, but I like it for those reasons.
Off topic, Matthew Rhys (Edge of Love) explains how he plays gay love scenes:
"Well, I played a gay man in a play when I was 21 and again in the film Love and Other Disasters . You just close your eyes and think of Michelle Pfeiffer or whoever."

nathaniel: zodiac or se7en? results confidential, but appreciated.
Jake is just TOO CUTE in this film. Love him.
They're cool, I guess.
I'd take Zodiac, definitely, because it has a more Jean-Pierre Melville / All the President's Men vibe about it, so that when something horrible does happen (the executioner appearing in the middle of a sunny field), it's more impactful.
Jake is so cute!
And I just love reading your blog!
"jake is so cute"
truer words were never spoken
"and I just love reading your blog"
kind words too! thanks.
