My gosh....look how young (and pretty)she looks! what a great picture. And, she's smoking....augghhh. it's kind of amazing when you see old pics of people smoking. my mother smoked like a chimney; spent the last year of her life on a ventilator. I've come across pics of my mother looking healthy & vibrant in the 50's and 60's - always w a cigarette
It's funny how cigarettes have totally lost their glamourous appeal isn't it? Or smoking inside? Whenever I see an older film now of people smoking in an office or house I think, "Why aren't they going outside." My mom still smokes but when I was a kid she would smoke anywhere. We'd go to a relative's house that didn't smoke and they'd have ashtrays all over their house for visitors who smoked. That seems so odd now.
Those were the days, now medicine and scientific fact come along and ruin all our fun. Darn it.
looks like sarah michelle gellar
I don't know, I still find cigarettes glamorous- but only in the movies. It's pretty gross in real life, but everytime I see Bette Davis light up in one of her films for a split second I wish I had a cigarette to be as classy as she is.
Somehow, classic Hollywood stars never look bad smoking a cigarette.
An interesting, unguarded moment. Spoiled a bit by the cigarette, which I didn't even notice at first.looks like sarah michelle gellarMaybe after a few hundred cartons. All the Buffy goodwill in the world can't disguise the fact that SMG is still a skeleton.
Yes - there is something quite fabulous seeing Bette, Joan or Lana light up - then let some wayward man have it - BIG TIME!
It's funny--the first thing I thought was that it was nice to see someone taking a break and not talking on a cell phone.
