Jennifer Jason Leigh ???

Still from Synecdoche New York

I'm so confused right now. Is she planning on starring in a Jocelyn Wildenstein biopic? Does she have the mumps? My apologies if that's unkind but what the hell is going on!?!* I thought she looked great in Margot at the Wedding --I mean aside from the dingy cinematography.

[last year's interview with JJL if ya missed it]

* spoiler answer: TFE reader Rosengje has solved the mystery... it's actually aging make-up job on JJL. No need to panic. She hasn't destroyed her face

I thought that was Jessica Lange for a second. ;-)

Maybe she was made up to look that way on purpose?

i too thought it was lange and that grey gardens had a release date nat you looking v foolish with your drew b prediction - no way is that happening.

anon --- that drew barrymore prediction wasn't foolish at all: big star, biopic, strong source material.

not my fault if the movie doesn't pan out ;)

clusterfunk... i'm really hoping that's the case. Like an old age plastic surgery joke or something within the movie? Jennifer Jason Leigh is not old. Nor did she need surgery. yikes.

As disturbed as I am by JJL's pretty face gone awry, I'm pretty excited by the prospect of a Jocelyn Wildenstein biopic. C'mon Hollywood, make this happen!

saw synecdoche at cannes, and yes it is an aged version of jennifer jason leigh, who is given plenty of time to look beautiful early in the film as she steals away psh's wife, catherine keener

hi nat have to agree with anon a type of role does not definite nom make and if it doesn't come off it is hardly your fault just hanging a bet on barrymore when she really is unproved dramatically was putting your neck on the line, you have to win your actress psychic contest 1 day, then you too can have an oscar.

Dramatically unproven? I thought Drew was great in 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' and 'Lucky you' come to that.

she was ok but it was not a big juicy role in either film plus you could she was support in both.
