Just lovely, yes?Click over to see new/old shots of La Liz, Garland, Monty Clift in Montauk and more... and if 2009's big starry musical adaptation of Nine is any good next year, expect a huge Sophia Loren resurgence in the media. After all, she'll be celebrating the big "75th" next year on this very day. Just in time for Nine's Oscar buzz to kick in before its December release.

It'd be fabulous to have Sophia back in the Oscar arena. She hasn't been there as a nominee in 40-something years (and in the supporting category, she'd be a solid bet)
oh, and it should be noted that Brando was the most beautiful man ever committed to celluloid. I maintain that Terry Malloy is the movie character I would most like to marry.
I love the way Avedon brings out the beauty in all his subjects. Even when they're gorgeous to start with, they look special and unique when photographed by Avedon. As though he finds a beautiful soul everywhere.
Black and white all the way baby!
My all-time favorite Avedon portrait is the one he did of Marian Anderson.
I also share a birthday with Stinkylulu and Sophia Loren.
What is the difference between the book Blindness and the film of the same name.
Adam H --chief among the differences it that books are more natural homes for allegories... but the movie is pretty faithful to the book, actually
OMG that shot of Judy is totally amazing. Thanks Nat
