Nathaniel, this Actress of the Aughts run through has been one of my favorite things about your site ever, and, as an ardent fan of this site since 2001, that's a high compliment.

Oh, and my money's on either Pfeiffer or Blanchett next.

Great notes on Collette and Johansson... I still say the Top 5 will have Kidman, Winslet, Dunst, Clarkson and Moore.

#8: Michelle Pfeiffer... I mean can she really go higher than this?

Morton and Blanchett look about to appear as well.

I'm thinking Morton, Blanchett, and Clarkson next, and then Pfeiffer, Moore, Dunst, WInslet and Kidman.

I too love been loving this countdown. I little too much. My life in the outside world is cursing it daily, but my inner film nerd is squealing with glee.

Michelle Pfeiffer can and will get higher than #8, she totally deserves #2, I think she is the greatest actress alive (and perhaps of all time). But if we are talking 2000's Kate Winslet takes the gold.

As much as I love La Pfeiffer she only has one great performance in this decade and it was for a supporting role.

She was positively ravishing and magnetic in "What Lies Beneath" but that isn't exactly a brilliant performance. And let's not get into "I Am Sam" (nothing wrong with her there, but the movie... oh well)

Now, if we were talking 90s, I'd have no trouble listing her as #1 or #2. (She already has two performances for the all-time books... in "Fabulous Baker Boys" and "Batman Returns"... that's more than most actresses can say...)

However, Blanchett and Morton have worked their asses off this decade and delivered consistently top-notch performances...

anyway that's my opinion

But remember, Nathaniel loves Michelle's What Lies Beneath perf. She was nominated in the 2000 Film Bitch awards.

I'm thinking Samantha Morton will be next.

Umm, I meant Cate Blanchett is next. THEN Samantha Morton. That's the order I had it on my guess list in the other thread.

I guessed #10 AND #9 correctly. Yay for me.

God knows I LOVED her in that role, but it isn't what I would label as "brilliant" or "unforgettable". I understand Nat's take, though.
