Day One...

The Oscar Symposium has begun. Day One read and comment if you're so moved.

We all swap roles for the nominees, Josh talks crap about Brokeback and bows to Spielberg (oh no he didn't --and both? Argh) Joe contrasts Olympic figure skating to acting, Gabriel and Nick sing the praises of one Catherine Keener, MaryAnn poses an unanswerable question and invokes Shakespeare's Hamlet, and we all reveal ourselves to be in different corners in the Best Actor race.

Very good reading. Enjoyed the interaction, and the answers to each other ideas/arguments/points of view.

Having been a fan of the writings of everyone involved, it was great fun to read all of you interacting.

Being an OscarWatch boarder, it's great to see you and Josh Timm discuss film. You are both always passionate, not to mention very accomplished writers.
