What a lovely movie this was! I saw it in its orig release at a tiny art house in Atlanta as a teenager. 'I've Heard the Mermaids Singing':)

Patricia Rozema's 'I've Heard the Mermaids Singing'. It was in my first year-end Top 10 back in 1988, along with a lot of weird art-house fare I've not revisited (Nic Roeg's Track 29, anyone?). Would be very intrigued to see if I still loved it now...

tiny tiny film. i also saw in arthouses. so small blockbuster didn't get it when it came out on video and I had to put it on this sheet they used to have with requests for movies they didn't have. Way back in zee 80s
