Never on a Sunday

Do you get melancholy on Sunday nights? I sure do. How do you spend Sunday nights? Overshare in the comments.

I might watch a movie, although lately I've taken to watching multiple episodes of tv on DVD in a row. I just like a night in though.

It's summer, silly. The days run together. A Sunday night could be a Wednesday night, for all I care.

By the way, I watched Love Field for the first time yesterday. It's nowhere near Pfeiffer's best and the film is really uneven, but I was really impressed by the way she handled the balance of comedy and tragedy in the role. The script forced her to walk a fine line between humanity and caricature, and she really nailed it.

Oh, and props for not letting her beauty get in the way. She didn't even need to dye her hair! But as far as Pfeiffer in '93 goes, it's no match for Catwoman. Meow.

Not this Sunday with the premiere of Mad Men, one of the best shows on Television. I used to hate Sundays when the Sopranos ended, but now I can say I am back to anticipating a great show each week.

Every Sunday night for as long as I have lived, I have supper at my grandparents'. This long standing tradition will end for me when I move to New York in two weeks.

What I do afterwards varies. Tonight, specifically, I will be finishing Brideshead Revisited. Two more episodes to go!

And I second the Mad Men anticipation!

Usually watching FOX, or a movie, or just staring at the ceiling. Sunday nights are so disappointing compared to Sunday afternoons.

But starting next Sunday - Mad Men!!!! Yeah, next Sunday, because I'm not done watching the first season yet, so obviously I can't watch the premiere tonight. But what I've seen so far is SOOOOOO excellent. It sort of makes me want a smoke, but I guess that's the price you gotta pay for brilliant television.

I used to, but now Sunday is Game Night and the hours are filled with food, friends and (usually)Munchkin.

I operate according to my parents custody agreements, switching from one's house to the other. I proceed to watch a movie.

i've found avoiding work on monday (or any day, really) helps stave off the sunday blues

I think this mutual melancholy stems from the fact that in everyone's childhood, Sunday nights were the last moments of freedom before school started again Monday morning. I find that same feeling still lingers even many years later.

Sunday nights (after BROTHERS & SISTERS mind you) always have a weird vibe. I used to think it was just me until a friend of mine mentioned it, and now you.

When everything is in balance, I spend Sunday night reading something really good.

When everything is not in balance, I spend Sunday night frantically grading everything that I promised my students I'd hand back at the beginning of the week. Gah.

Made the BF a lovely salad with Red kidney beans, watched the Wire, finished my Blog-A-Thon then went to bed and woke up at 3am with food poisoning. Did not know an undercooked red kidney bean could do so much damage.

I'll usually watch some movie, but over the summer I always watch Big Brother to remind myself that I actually am superior to some people.

Close shave after not shaving for 2-3 days. Some sort of facial treatment so I will feel particularly sassy for the start of the week. "Brothas and Sistahs" at 9....and now "Madmen" is back at 10P. Life is good on Sundays. What an extra treat on those Monday holiday's!
