Triple That

A question for those readers who've been kind enough to follow me over to Zoom In. In my themed "Thursday Triple" series (DVD recommendations) I've covered Tricky Dick Nixon, Girls Gone Wild (even though Lindsay is dead to me she is obviously lingering in my brain), Foodies and Musical Comedy among other things. Any suggestions for future groupings?

Why not be inspired by the title of your column and this summer's threequelitis and showcase three trilogies that are really worth it from start to finish... such as Ray's Apu trilogy, Fassbinder's BRD trilogy, Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy... well, you get the idea...

Well, obviously there are directors, actors: The easy trilogies.

There are also remakes (A Star Is Born x3; Invasion of the Body Snatchers {(about to be} x3).

Location and genre are easy enough: New York, San Francisco, movies-within-movies, movies about making movies (Singin' in the Rain, Bowfinger, The Player), Westerns (or dark Westerns, comedy Westerns, modern Westerns). Jesse James movies, Wyatt Earp movies. Bridge movies (River Kwai, Madison County, Lulu on the, Too Far). Movies that open with corpses (Big Chill, Trouble with Harry...can't think of a third).

Gods, I could do this all day.
