Heidi & Tim Return to Save Television

Tonight on Bravo, Project Runway returns and all is right again with television. Or so I hope. Because, really, there's not a better (unscripted) show.

It's impossible to predict who will become this season's breakouts having not seen the first episode yet. Last year Daniel V tried to steal my allegiance from Nick (but it didn't quite work) and most surprising: I never saw Kara sneaking up into my affections but toward the end of the season, I was definitely sweet on her.

Must-read/see for Runway lovers:
Tim Gunn dishes to the Chicago Tribune. Including this choice bit:
"My darling little Dan has become a terrible diva. And it’s really unattractive."

I hate this show more than anything else in the world.

Basically, because it's on cable and I can't watch it yet everybody raved about it. My life isn't complete.

That makes me so sad about Danny V. being a diva. Don't tell me these things, Tim Gunn!

I don't quite understand the appeal of Project Runway, i.e. how it's substantially different from all the other reality shows that people generally hate. Oh well.

it's about fashion, Adam! And it appears that the contestants are actually talented (for the most part)

America's Next Top model is also about fashion, but is totally mindknumbing and full of itself.

I guess I get that the people are talented, but the judges annoy me (they need to wear less fake tan just be tad less gratuitously bitchy, please), and I just can't really get into it in general. I find it more enjoyable/less obnoxious than most of its ilk, but I'm still not a big fan.

I have to be honest - I LOVED the 1st season of the show and was excited for the 2nd season - but I found the 2nd season dreadfully boring and just not terribly good. But I was addicted to it anyway, I felt trapped watching it. (Once I start watching, it's like I just have to keep watching to see how it's going to pan out, even if I'm not enjoying yourself all that much.) So I won't be watching the 3rd season, even to see if it might be as good as the 1st, because I'm afraid of getting hooked on it even while I'm not enjoying it, ala last season.

The only thing I didn't like about last season was Chloe's win. Talk about a poor way to end a relatively exciting season. Also, the show tends to grow stale by the time Tim Gunn goes to visit the final 3 designers.

But I'm still hooked. Did anybody watch last night? I love Bradley. He's adorable.

andy i loved bradley too. but my favorite (at least at first glance) is the 42 year old architect woman.

I watched the show and my favorite is also the architect. Under my rules, she wolud have won the challenge, since through her design, she showed what her personality really is. The other contestants, I believe, did not show what their styles are. I hope she wins.
