Sunday Linky Sunday

ONTD shows us the Vanity Fair The Women pictorial (thx, Billy). For a second I thought Annette Bening (left) had landed the lead role in the 80s costume drama: Kathleen Turner: The Movie!

<--- seriously, now

Just Jared Heath Ledger in costume for the new Terry Gilliam feature. Wheee (I loved Ledger in The Brothers Grimm)
Dr. X Marilyn Monroe & Robert Mitchum. 'Photo of the Day'
David Bordwell has an extensive history of Aardman creations
Golden Fiddle La Lohan hits a premiere. I know this is shallow of me but I will never ever believe that Lindsay has recovered or is worth paying attention to until she goes back to her natural hair color
Scanners on the Juno backlash (backlash)

Nat did you watch the Newsweek Oscar Roundtable this year? What a dry bunch. Only McAvoy looked alert through the whole thing, thought he looked like he could barely stay in one place. I kept expecting him to spin on the chair and go 'whee'.

Sadly, that wasnt to be.

OMG-I did about six double takes when I got my VF over the Turner/Bening thing. I actually kept looking and looking, wondering how they could leave The Bening out of the photo shoot, and then when I read the captions, I thought they'd made a mistake.

She looks very "War of The Roses" ... It is wild !

Kathleen Turner: The Movie!
hahahahaha.
I'd pay to see that.

Lol, spot on about Bening, John. I had no idea who it was until I read the caption. Personally, I think it's a pretty boring picture either way. Were they doing a Carolina Herrera tribute or something?

Oh and Nat, about Lohan--I feel exactly the same way. What director needs another glazed looking blonde starlet when he could have a smoking hot redhead?

I can never take an 'actor' seriously if their glammed up for the premiere of a film they dont star in. You know that they are only there just to have their picture taken. Sorry, but that kills the magic on-screen.

[In Joe Pesci voice:] Funny? You think I'm funny? Why the f*ck am I funny, just because I think Evening has great foley effects? You think I'm kidding? This amuses you?

FYI: That Aardman filmography was compiled by Kristin Thompson, not David Bordwell.

Also: it must take immense mental effort to like anything in Brothers Grimm (except the fact that the movie ended).

Olli, thanks. I'll change it. I hate sites that are named after one person but have articles by others. argh... ;)

I actually thought Bening was the spitting image of Murphy Brown.

Whoa. I just clicked the link and lounging right next to Annette is Murphy Brown herself.

It's like an episode of The Scary Door!

I want Lindsay's red hair back, too. She looks so old and washed up now.

Good Lord, for one second I thought Kathleen Turner was pretending to be The Bening playing Turner.

Weird.

Are the producers of the photo sure that Turner was not near the shooting???

It is quite possible that Turner and The Bening are playing a trick on us.

Oh dear. Heath Ledger must love working with Terry Gilliam to put on that awful clown costume for him. I hope he's not wearing this item throughout the whole film!

The Bening looks marvelous.

But oh Meg. And you're the younger one. Sigh.

I'm scared of clowns so I don't think I'll be seeing the Ledger/Gilliam film. I'm not a fan of Gilliam either so I guess that helps.

I'm scared of kangaroos so I won't be visiting you in Australia.
